I took my wife on holiday to Jelgava. I was pleased with my stay and recommend to try out this place at least once in your life. The staff were really nice and Linda at the reception helped us out with the neighbourhood. Breakfast was tasty and fresh. Rooms well decorated. City is quite and with a breath-taking view. Loved smoking on the balcony at the end of the hallway, great view of the closed garden. Unfortunately spa or massages are unviable of covid. However, sauna was available and nice.

I spent five nights at the Hotel Senlici in July with my partner as we were attending a wedding in nearby Jelgava. It was an absolute delight. The hotel is reasonably priced, well appointed and friendly. We opted for a suite, which exceeded any expectations I had. There was a cute, homely feel to the rooms which were also slightly themed. In the bedroom there were prints of lambs on the pillows and two sheep soft toys on the bed. The lounge had a lily pad theme with two frog soft toys. The overall ambiance of this was adorable. There’s a lot going on at the Senlici, with a restaurant, cafe, bar, bakery and expansive children’s play area. We ate in the restaurant two evenings and I have to say the food is homely and really good, one of the delights being the baked Alaska. I would happily visit the Senlici again and thoroughly recommend it to all travellers, singles, couples and families. One tip I must make is that it is advisable to call the hotel ahead of your arrival to see if they can arrange a pick up from Riga airport. This would avoid the ferociously expensive airport taxis, a fare from Riga to the Senlici can cost up to €90!

The quality of the food is to low. If you wish to have delicious lunch try other place. The atmosphere is good. Animals are fantastic. Do I really need to write 200 symbols to express my position?????

Very interesting and charming place. We visited Karklu muiza in autumn when there were still renovation works going on, and would be staying again. The place has a unique charm. Reasonably priced.Highly recommended.

Bad showes and the rooms look very old and worn down. Small TV that looks like it's from 2001 and the internet is unstable and at times not present at all. Curtains also let lots of light in so you wake up really early? So all in all not the best but if your looking for a cheap hotel for some night this is for you.

If you've ever thought to yourself, "I really want to go back in time to Soviet times" - first, perhaps you should get off TripAdvisor and seek professional help, there's nothing good about those times that isn't a lot better now... Second, if you don't believe me, book a stay at Motel Akva. Oh, never mind, don't bother booking, because it's not like they actually check the bookings and just look at you funny when you explain you have a reservation. The rooms are basically straight out of a soviet era snuff film, complete with a clear scent of having been smoked in heavily in the past; oh, and flies. So many flies. No air conditioning, naturally, though they do advertise cable TV and free WiFi (neither of which I tested). There are fridges in the rooms, but they aren't on, so will take longer than my stay to actually be of use. Perhaps if they'd checked the bookings, they'd turn them on in time? Perhaps not. Jelgava doesn't have too many places to stay, but for sure I won't be back to this one, unless I'm shooting a movie and need it to feel ultra realistic.
