A small boutique, 6 years old, motel in Brooklyn on the Hawkesbury River. We are opposite the Anglers Rest, which is a Pub with Restaurant. The motel is 200m away from the railway station, and only 300 meters from the famous "Postmans River Boat Cruise" wharf. Brooklyn is surrounded by bushland. Our motel is on the great Northern Walk and although close to Sydney, (51 km to CBD) there is a total different feel than the City Motels. Brooklyn is great place to go fishing or leave the car and take the train into the city. There is no off street parking at the motel, but because the road is a dead end, well lighted and wide, parking near the motel is normally easy. Both the railwaystation and the motel have steps and the motel is therefor not suitable for small children and/or disabled people. (No wheelchair access) We are a member of the golden chain and are a "platinum motel"

Reviewed By MsmijageWe were pleasantly surprised by this conveniently located, spotlessly clean motel. Different to what I expected, but great value for money, good old fashioned service, wonderful hosts and walking distance to everything. The owners are lovely people. They even posted back to me an item I had left in our room. So kind and thoughtful. I've recommended this place to all my friends. A hidden gem. I'll definitely be back to explore this pretty town.

Reviewed By CT_WorcesterThe hotel is comfortable and convenient. We chose the hotel because it was close to family, so the location was a key consideration for us. The rooms are quite spacious with room to sit and to eat. They are spotless, though, as other reviewers have said, the decor and fittings are getting quite tired. The kitchen area is rudimentary, but has everything you need to prepare a very basic meal. There appears to be a coin-operated laundry on every floor. There is a tiny pool and a gym, but we did not use either. The foyer is impressive, but it quickly became clear that service levels are minimal. The cafe has been closed since before Covid. Reception operates only during business hours. There is no room service. I would say it is a very good place to stay if you need to be in that area and your expectations are limited to needing a place to spend the night.

Hidious place, unpleasant experience, False advertisment
Reviewed By M33ro2019Really disappointed, i booked one night for a business trip, i was told it would be a double room, at this price i expecetd at least the basic comfortable room. Ok, i took room#1, unbelievably stinky room, stained quilt, stained carpet, the odour was like accumulated vomiting on the carpet, i still have the smell in my nostril, super loud music from the Bar downstairs,super loud aircon, with a broken dirty vent, i swear there was smoke coming out of the aircon, i stayed for 45 mins and i couldnt bare anymore, so i go to the reception, no one was there, but i could 2 people clearly talking just behind the backroom, i kept ringing the bell, but htey jyst ignore you, i started calling loud for anyone,eventually i spoke to the receptionins, i asked to be moved to another room, becuase that room was super bad and i needed to sleeep,without looking into the system, he told me they are boooked out first, then he told me we have 6 other rooms but he cant move me to any right now, because there are other people !! i couldnt understand so i asked again, then he told me there are 6 vacant rooms, not occupied but for safety concerns he cant fill them, and was just moving along like there is nothing to be done, so it was for me just to accept what they gave me pretty much. The photos are really a distraction or fake, it is a real rip off, it would win the best con on the web, this place is not even worth $50 per night. Just disgusting. Everything that you would need in hotel room you will literally find the opposite of it.

Comfortable and clean motel - great night sleep
Reviewed By ElleSHansenStayed here for one night on a road trip from Brisbane to Canberra. Arrived at 8pm and left at 7am. Greeted by lovely owner Amy. Easy check in and host was very chatty and accomodating. Very clean, comfortable and suitable for a nights stay on a road trip. Very affordable price. Room decor was outdated, but this didn’t matter - beds were comfy, nice shower and water pressure and we had great night sleep. Quiet too. Would go back! Thanks Amy.

Good if all you want to do is sleep
Reviewed By David BBooked a Queen Standard for 2 nights, After having to climb about 40 steps we found our room....well, couldnt get any more standard, just a square box, no window (unless you left the bathroom door open), no refrigerator, TV the size of a large laptop screen, only 1 bedside table, lack of power points, an annoying rattle in the aircon (couple of thong hits sorted it out for a couple of hours then another hit needed)........and a shower that had water pressure was just a trickle There were some good points, great staff, central to all of Hornsby surrounds, good breakfast room (with plenty of cereal, bread and milk) and a large ensuite (but the lack of shower water pressure ruined that experience) When booking out we saw another room getting made up, what a huge difference, 2 beds and full of natural daylight......then that climb down 40 odd steps to get out It was basic "pub" accommodation, but sorry Blue Gum, the stairs (coming and going for 2 days) and the dribble out of the shower head is enough to say we will not return. We paid $295 for 2 nights, after that We wouldnt even pay $200

Great unit on top level
Reviewed By 61MaddieI stayed in a unit at Lord Street, Asquith for a short week visiting my adult kids & grandson. Thankfully my son told me about this unit so I had to book online, which Im not too good at but was there for 4 days, having a late Christmas with my adult children & grandson. Even had time to visit old friends & places. The only thing I could say about the unit was it didn’t have enough curtains up to block the early morning wake up you would get each day. Next time I book, I might find my patches you get when flying overseas. Apart from that, the washing machine worked & there it was a big unit.

I have travelled to all remote regions of Australia and never been so Insulted by any place. Could not stay here and had to move on down the road. Awesomely Bad Experience. Steer clear of Ascot Motor Inn.
