Reviewed By Mary SFront Desk representative was surly, lied to us about the availability of our room, hotel was literally filthy, surfaces were not cleaned, trash throughout hotel. Had it not been late when we checked in, we would have left. After years of staying in LaQuinta we will not be back.

We're in downtown Homewood, a highly walkable area of upscale retailers and casual dining. UAB and Samford University are within two miles of the hotel, and downtown Birmingham is 10 minutes north. Stop in for breakfast in our bistro or elevated comfort food in our restaurant. We have ballrooms and an outdoor terrace for events - and a team for details.

Reviewed By rainerberryMy husband and I go stay at the valley several times a year for a night away. It was nice and staff was kind at first. Our room smelled so bad I could hardly go in the bathroom. The staff were the most unhelpful group of ppl I have ever met. Don’t waste your money. Better hotels very closeby.

Weird place…
Reviewed By Nan DJust a weird place. Big complex type building & strangely laid out. Only one elevator in the very far back corner of the complex. It basically is in a closet and as far away from the front entrance as you can get. You can use the stairs though. You hear everything happening in the hall from your room. So, little to no soundproofing. We had a room on the back side of the hotel which I thought would be quiet, but there was a dog barking all night in a house behind the hotel. I asked to switch rooms, but was told they were sold out. Very few cars in the parking lot though? Anyway, all I can say is this is a weird place. I’d stay else where!

Reviewed By vedevI've stayed here a few times over the years whilst visiting business associates in Birmingham (including just after the Aloft had opened). Sadly the Aloft has aged badly and is no longer a particularly nice place to stay. Unfortunately the rooms have a dirty, musty smell to them now and I swear the inordinately slow elevators have gotten even more ponderous over the years. The bar is no longer open on Thursdays (why) or Sundays and there's rarely anyone around to grab a drink anyway. Sorry Aloft.... I hope new ownership brings a renovation!

My first sign that it wouldn't be a great stay was that even after pre-checking in with the app, I had to wait around 30 minutes in line to get the keys and still fill out more paperwork. The desk clerks being behind a cracked bullet proof glass was another red flag. The floors were sticky. Bedspreads had cigarette burns and the room smelled like smoke despite requesting a non-smoking. Room was just icky overall. No housekeeping due to Covid. No wi-fi despite it being advertised. Both nights we were there, the fire alarms were activated no less than one time. Will definitely be seeking other options next year.

Reviewed By ww1enemyaceA quiet location. Resturant seving Breakfast and Dinner was close sunday and Monday, not sure why. Unless you ordered through a food delievery service, eating would be difilcult as there is nothing around within any short walking distance. hotel staff very courtious and friendly. No daily housekeeping, however if you need something just ask. Lobby area clean as well as my room. Bed was comfortable. Wifi worked well and a good slection of TV channels.

While waiting on staff we noticed they were not serving breakfast like promised and the snack machine was out of order and so was drink machine and so was bathroom in lobby. When we got to room it was absolutely disgusting. I never took my socks off the sheets had burn holes in them with the comforter. The shower was a no go I was afraid to catch some fungus. The binder with hotel info was full of food crumbs. Floor had not been vacuumed in ages. Hands down the worst hotel ever. Stay away far away..
