Modern and convenient, nice hot breakfast
Reviewed By MikeGSJAfter the recent negative review about bug bites we carefully checked the cleanliness of the room and specifically the bed and we've found the room to be spotless. The room was pretty spacious and convenient for a family of 3 (1 king bed suite; 1 sofa bed), although the bathroom is a bit dated (but was very clean and fully functional). Breakfast had a few hot items (pre-made omelette, hash browns, bacon), bagels, cereals, juice and coffee. Location is close to highway 50, a lot of restaurants nearby. Road noise was barely audible in the room and didn't bother us at all. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful with something we needed from them. Pool was closed due to remodel. Overall, would recommend and will stay there again if I'm in the area.

Reviewed By 638kaiasIf you don’t mind bed bugs and roaches, you’ll love it here.…Gross! Zero stars! The bed was so uncomfortable. Mattress was hard as a rock. Turned on the light to the restroom during the night, and roaches went running. Woke up covered in bites. I went down to the front desk, the girl couldn’t even look at the bedbug. She just laughed awkwardly. No refund. To say the least, I do not recommend Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott in Folsom.

The Hotel Staff is amazing and like a family
Reviewed By MoqnevilleJust wanted to mention a few of the amazing staff...Nate checked us in and thanked us for being Gold members and offered us a complimentary bottle of wine!! What?? He was super efficient and explained that there were some renovations going on and what to expect. No problem. This was a great way to start off our stay. My sister and I were in the lobby until late and we got to meet Mario. He was also super helpful. The next morning we came down to breakfast and met Shakkari at the front desk. Pleasant, professional and just had a great attitude. Speaking of great attitudes, the hostess, server, all around crossover employee of the year, Christina was our breakfast attendant. There was a time when the front desk personnel had to leave for a moment and she stepped right up to the plate. Later after breakfast I was catching up on some work and she had transformed into a front desk attendant. It was like there was a phone booth in the back. New hair, new clothes but still the uplifting energy that she had had earlier this morning. Hilton is our home away from home and they should be very proud of this staff. Despite the reno they worked as a team to make everyone's stay fantastic! Oh yea I forgot to mention the waffle and the amazing omelet. Hats off to the chef!

Very good stay
Reviewed By Barbara FGreat location, lovely town of Folsom. Room was spacious albeit older. The room was clean, beds comfortable and great water pressure in the shower. The cafe and bar was adequate. Breakfast was delicious. The reception desk staff eS friendly and helpful. Our requests for room location was respected. Next time will request a room on the upper level as the guests above us were very loud.

Tripadvisor Let Me Down
Reviewed By marcus232I was pretty disappointed with Larkspur Landing. For something that had 4.5 stars on Tripadvisor I would have expected a lot more. We stayed in an Executive Suite. Pros: The service was good. People at the front desk were friendly. Laundry machines were free which was great as we went skiing and had a bunch of damp clothes that we could wash and dry in the dryer. The location is quiet. Even though somewhat close to freeway couldn't hear the noise. Cons: First of all, the place felt grimy. I read reviews that it was recently renovated but it did not feel that way AT ALL. There was a central heater that was only in the living room. If you wanted heat in the bedroom you couldn't get it. Phone was broken and didn't work. Pullout bed was extremely uncomfortable. I don't expect pullout beds to be comfortable but this one was more than uncomfortable than normal.

Clean quiet and convenient
Reviewed By KristineH622We stayed here on a Saturday night and upon check in I was told that 4 weddings were staying at the hotel. Unlike most places we have stayed-we were unaware of any heavy traffic or adjacent partying-the hotel was very quiet with a nice in-room a/c unit. Comfortable bed and lots of pillows. Had to use iron/ironing board, and hair dryer . All worked well. Steps to a Bev Mo, fast foods and even a really nice Dim Sum restaurant and bar. Close to lots of shopping and freeway. Also has an in-house Starbucks and bistro.

Reviewed By Woodpecker48I had business in Grass Valley and decided to stay somewhere close for the night. I chose this hotel because I have always enjoyed Staybridge Suites. The hotel was clean, quiet and made for an enjoyable stay. Highly recommended. I will return.

Overwhelmed and Understaffed
Reviewed By John DI have been staying for several weeks. I returned here after staying a few years ago remembering how wonderful that prior experience had been. However, it is different now. Despite the rather high rates, there is obviously a shortage of staff. The front desk is quite often empty and you have to wait for someone to show up. They don't strike me as particularly knowledgeable - probably brand new in their jobs. The most damning example is now that a few days ago they instituted a clean-it-yourself housekeeping policy. Housekeepers only enter rooms after someone checks out. For those of us who stay over (the longer term people that Residence Inn is supposedly designed to accomodate), they will provide any supplies you desire in you can find someone at the front desk to give them to you but you ultimately still clean it yourself. This appears to be a policy in place for the foreseeable future. I really wouldn't recommend anyone stay here unless it is only for a day or two. The place has gone seriously down hill. Management is overwhelmed and in survival mode no longer caring about the guests. I leave soon and will never ever return.
