Cold Room

Reviewed By pamelahF2855KH

Very nice, quaint, log cabin looking motel. Check in was in person. My room was upstairs (not outside in one of the cabin looking rooms, much to my chagrin). The room was very roomy with a double bed or maybe a queen bed. Very high A-frame ceilings with a log beam across. Looked as though there was a loft at some point (no access). I felt like this possibly was a store room at some point. The room had a TV, dresser, coffee maker, microwave, mini fridge and a pullout bed. The bathroom was small, shower only (no bathtub). The room was clean. I highly suggest the owner ditch the faded bedspread and maybe go with a white duvet cover or something similar. Here was the major downside of my stay here..... When I checked in I told the front desk I would be leaving to visit friends and coming in late. I was given a keypad code for the lobby after hours. I arrived back in the early morning hours 2:30 am, unlocked the lobby, unlocked my room and proceded to prepare for a peacefull nights sleep. (keep in mind it's now October 1st) I decided to turn the heaters on (baseboard heaters on all the walls including the bathroom). After searching for over 30 minutes for a thermostat and sticking my hands inside the baseboard heaters hoping to find a switch I finally gave up and crawled under the covers. After a couple of hours (wide awake) I was still freezing cold. I got up, put on socks, a sweatshirt and a pair of jeans and crawled back under the covers. I finally fell asleep around 4:30 am......The next morning I asked the front desk where they hid the thermostat, thinking I must not have looked hard enough...........? She asked me what room I was in I told her #102 she said that they have a portable heater that they forgot to put in my room! Then she said I should have come down to the lobby at 2:30 am called the number on the plexiglass and they would have given me a heater.......really? And then....... she asked a couple in the lobby if they were cold, to which they replied no. So at this point I'm not sure if she was doubting me or trying to make me look stupid. I did inform her that it was 39F outside that night. So although this is a cute little place, I will not stay again, nor will I recommend this place to anyone. It really is because of the lack of empathy for my situation.

Nice one night stop

Room was clean and the breakfast was great. Stayed one night with my wife and two teenagers before heading to Banff for a few days. We did not use the casino, so I can’t comment on that. Staff was nice and helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

Perfect little place with lots of character!

Reviewed By Shauna972

Bonners Ferry is the halfway point on my trip. The first night I stopped in I got a "vintage" room. It was actually quite fun how old it was, but it was clean and cozy. There is parking right outside the room, a fire pit, and a picnic table in the center of the complex. The couple that owns the place are so friendly, accomodating, and welcoming that I stayed there on my way back through and I got one of the renovated rooms which was like walking into a little log cabin! Really a great experience. Oh and they are super pet friendly, it is a great vibe all around. The restaurant right next door serves great food too!

Even Better the second time!!!

Reviewed By Tom G

It has been 3 years since we last stayed and although it was amazing the first time it was even better the second time. Once again the details the family goes to both in our arrival and of course the amazing breakfast the following morning truly make it feel like you are with family. This is the place if you want great accommodations, great food and most importantly an amazing host family from the adults to the kids. There is not doubt we will be back again.
