Welcome to Hostal Zumag Sisa! We will do our best to make your trip to Tena an unforgettable experience! Our hostel has a large, breezy chill-out area on our terrace with hammocks and beautiful views over the city and the mountains in the distance. We offer spacious single and double rooms and dorms, all with private bathrooms and fans. We have a spacious kitchen, a barbecue area, two dining rooms, Wi-Fi and safe parking. Mobile homes are also welcome. Just a short bus ride away from our hostel you can find lagoons and waterfalls, green rivers, visit the Quechua’s ethnic groups, or try rafting (Tena is considered one of the best rafting destinations in South America). We encourage you to also enjoy the food of the region, or the nightlife in the city, which is especially nice on the weekends. Tena is a gathering point for tourists who want to enjoy the Amazon region of Ecuador. We are looking forward to welcoming you in our home.
Very nice hostal nearby the city Center of Tena and next to jungle. Marcia is a very friendly host with always good advises about what to do in the surroundings ! This is a good place to go on a jungle tour, explore waterfalls and lagoons, see some local communities and a lot of different Amazon’s activities. I shared a dorm room with others backpackers and spent some time in the terrace with a nice view over the city. I recommend it !

This conveniently situated hostel is run by Michael and his beautiful wife Beatriz. Their sons Roger and Jimmy often help out as well. I ended up staying here for over three months as I liked it so much. Clean comfortable rooms, a well equipped shared kitchen, on-site organized jungle tours and an efficient laundry service are only a few of the reasons I will be going back. And just wait until you see the mountain view from the kitchen on the top floor. Breathtaking. It's also a quick walk to the city center where you easily find groceries, restaurants and various stores. I've stayed in a few places in Tena over the years and haven't found better value than I did at Hostal Limoncocha; the prices are very good. Friendly, welcoming and extremely accommodating ... every day. This place attracts both Ecuadorian and foreign guests and had a great reputation around the area when I inquired about it. Michael and his wife are kind, genuine people who look after their guests and put a lot of thought and time into their business. We quickly all became friends. Nice work! And you know I'll be back soon Michael. :)

Amazing place to spend a few days! English speaking owner Pakita, and her staff were super friendly and inviting. The hot tubs were always clean and a nice temperature. At dinner, the staff would go to your room and light the fireplace and run the bath for you if requested. This really elevated the experience especially during the chilly evenings. The magical waters of Papallacta seriously are healing. Our skin was glowing after days of soaking. We wish we were back there!!!! This place was quite affordable. The price came with a delicious breakfast. They make great pancakes, yogurt, and coffee.

A small lodge in the cloud forest, home of an est. 600 species of birds,250 species of orchids. Things to do: Visit the nearby waterfalls, hikes, bike rental and the thermal baths of Papallacta. Enjoy the serene surroundings from your private porch. In our coffe shop you will find taste full food, with various vegetarian meals.
We were with a group (majority kayakers) in Baeza for a week. We stayed somewhere else and as nice as they were there, at some point we got enough of their food and explored the town. We got to KOPAL and were blown away with their food and cocktails! Strong and tasty Mai Tai and Margaritas and very nice homemade dough for the pizza's and wraps. They also do amazing breakfast. You really taste the love they put in the food. We came back to KOPAL daily after that! If you stay in Baeza, definitely have a bite and/or drink at KOPAL . Thanks KOPAL !

"A Welcome Break Hostal" is a family-run hostel located just off Tena's main street. The block is quiet and pleasantly mixed into a Quichua area. The hostel is cozy and simple with all the basic amenities. This is a family run hostel in the center of Tena. Juan Carlos is the friendly, helpful owner. Rooms are clean, beds are comfortable and the location is great. There are rooms with private bathrooms and others with shared bathrooms, all of which are clean. There is a nice garden and hammocks, free wifi, and a kitchen that you can use. Good value.

It was strange that the person there when we arrived could not register us, would not speak into my phone to have Google translate. We finally figured out that we needed to wait for the abuela to show up. Next day, she was not there. Figured out that they would not do laundry even though they don't for another guest. We told the to not clean room and we would stay for a second night. We left for breakfast. Came back and abuela was there. Room was unlocked and nothing was done inside. So, they went in for no good reason and then left the room unlocked. We might have been out much longer, but we decided to leave town. Finally, the room spelled of creosote or pesticide, strongly.

Eunice and Hernán, who run Hostal El Paisano, made our two week stay in Ecuador an absolute joy and filled with the most delightful memories that we will treasure forever. They and their staff do an outstanding job running everything from check in, breakfast (which is impressive), to cleaning rooms and common areas, to services and suggestions for the area. They are fluent in several languages which is quite helpful and even have books for your reading enjoyment in several languages. They also serve lunch or dinner upon your request (which is 5 star) and rent out rubber boots for hiking in the rainforest. And in case you want to send pictures back home, they have wifi! El Paisano is located right off the community square, so it is a two minute walk to anything you need. Come enjoy the incredible beauty of the Amazon rainforest, the playful monkeys, take a dip in the Misahualli river, enjoy the local Ecuadorian cuisine and the Quichua people, take a canoe ride down the river, shop in the quaint community square, bird and butterfly watch, stand in awe of God's creation as you hike to the Garden of Eden (also known locally as Cascadas de Latas)... but more than anything else come enjoy El Paisano and our new friends Eunice and Hernán! You won't regret it.
