A bargain shopper’s delight is just across the causeway in Malaysia, with numerous bus and train services available to ferry travelers across the border. The largest and most popular malls are easily accessible from the checkpoint and offer a blend of name-brand and knockoff shopping. Dig deeper and you’ll appreciate the city’s differences, good and bad, from Singapore, though rumors of rampant crime are overblown. Museums and places of worship abound, along with good dining for any budget. A new premium outlet mall opened just outside the city in December 2011, and keep an eye on the new Legoland Malaysia, slated to open at the end of 2012.

ATTRUS B&B offers the quality bunk bed from only RM40/night, and it's located at the busiest spot in Johor Bahru town area along Jalan Trus (Trus Street). With 3-mins walking distance to shopping mall and Singapore checkpoint, our guests can reach multiple eateries and shopping malls conveniently. Each guest staying with us is also offered basic amenities, locker & bed with privacy blind.
There’s a designated car park for guests, RM8/day. The female receptionist is very helpful and thoughtful. I asked for same the bunk bed for me & my partner and she managed to attend to it! This place is clean and they even provide a prayer room, excellent!

Stayed for 2 nights as a family of 2 adults and 2 kids. We had a quad room, which is pretty much a windowless room with queen bunk beds! Beds were comfortable and they provide a blanket! Good aircon, ok wifi, bathrooms - so/so, but clean. We were in Johor Bahru to visit Legoland and this place suited our needs - as in, it was just a place to sleep that was in our budget and close by! Great area for Chinese food and enjoyed a noodle soup for breakfast in the restaurant downstairs! For my fussy 8 year old, there was a 7 eleven to get pre-packed muffins next door! Its probably 15mins from Legoland, and only 500m from the bus stop that takes you straight to Singapore! Its been awhile since I've done the 'budget' hotel and we had to buy a towel - as these are not supplied! Staff were helpful and it was quiet after about 10pm!

The dorm has a curtain for privacy. Location is perfect for cafe hunting. Nearest to Senai Airport and UTM Skudai. Everything about customer service. The worst experience I ever had. One of the female staffs there named Vani treated me (via choice of words) as if I'm a prostitute trying to bring client in a dorm-sized bed (whatttt?). I left an item there and was asking assistance from the staffs to get the item for me in the dorm I previously stayed at. However, Vani the female staff don't know how to handle this and gave me an IRRITATING FACE! The issue is not resolved till now as I was rushing and annoyed with the treatment I received. The lost item worth almost RM1000 and the dorm I was staying at was just priced at RM30. Everything was okay apart from a minor issue such as the lighting suddenly went on and off, and the male cleaner went into the bathroom without any announcement but the major drawback is VANI. I will definitely come back provided that there is no people like VANI.
