Two extremely helpful young men were manning the desk. The exhibits were of excellent quality, and the information boards ideal. Got completely lost in time. Really good value at £3.50. Felt I had really stepped back in time in the lovely atmosphere of the House

A volunteer-run local history museum in the market town of Kington, Herefordshire.
The exposition about WW2 field hospital near Bredward Farm (Kington Camp) was fascinating. Friendly volunteers.

Our independent volunteer-run museum tells the story of the long history of the town of Leominster and its surrounding villages. Its extensive collections include watercolour paintings by John Scarlett Davis, a local 19th-century artist; agricultural implements, including a horse driven cider mill and a cider press; displays about domestic and industrial life in the town, and a wide range of books and historic photographs.

Located next to the River Wye, Herefordshire’s only working museum offers visitors more than you can imagine - it has something for all of the family. Engines, pumps and turbines plus an exciting water park for children and an exhibition focused on Hereford in WW2. Wholly run by Volunteers, the Museum is open every Tuesday (11am-4pm) + on the 2nd & last Sunday of the month between Easter and October (12-4pm). Please see the Museum website for special events calendar including new events for 2018 and school holiday activity for younger children. Free parking, light refreshments, and full disabled access.
A very interesting and historically important collection of machinery and equipment related to clean water supply. It was a thrill for me to see the UK's oldest triple expansion steam engine working and next to it a beam engine , beautifully preserved and presented. All other exhibits interesting, varied and great to see many of them operating. Lots of information provided about each exhibit and there are "hands on" demonstration models as well which all make it very educational. The volunteer staff were friendly and were happy to answer my questions. And on my visit, the museums exhibitions were supplemented by a lovely display of engines and vintage vehicles provided by the Hereford and District preservation society. I think the UK is unique in the amount of heritage (of all types) it has preserved and accessible to the public. And this working museum is a fine example of that trend. Very good value for money as well.

Just such a photogenic structure which oozes a sense of social history. In fact, very much in keeping with the rest of Ledbury. Very enjoyable.
