Woking (/ˈwoʊkɪŋ/) is a town in northwest Surrey, England. It is at the southwestern edge of the Greater London Urban Area and is a part of the London commuter belt, with frequent trains and a journey time of approximately 24 minutes to Waterloo station. Woking is 23 miles (37 km) southwest of Charing Cross in central London. Woking town itself, excluding the surrounding district, has a population of 62,796, with the whole local government district (the borough of Woking) having a population of 99,500 (mid-2011 estimate). Woking has been a Conservative area since the constituency was created in 1950, with Jonathan Lord re-elected as its Member of Parliament in the 2017 General Election.

I had played Pyrford some 10 years previously and the course was in very good condition then. I followed the course closely on social media in the coming weeks prior to this latest round and I could see there were course improvements taking place on the front 9. We booked anyway and we had a great game of golf on some of the best putting surfaces I have played on this year! The works were limited to the bunkers on the front 9 and the lakeside in front of the clubhouse but made no difference to our enjoyment of the day whatsoever! I wholeheartedly recommend a round at Pyrford. The clubhouse staff were attentive and friendly, the food excellent and overall we couldn't fault our day!

Played the par 3 course today. £10 for 18 holes. Greens were in brilliant condition. Golf range is certainly one of the best I’ve used, modern with up to date equipment. Pro shop is wonderfully stocked with very friendly service. We also had lunch and took advantage of the government backed half price meals. A superb day out. Will definitely be back !
