A beautiful place to walk around. Lots of different tracks to follow. And some surprises to be found.

The Letchworth greenway is a network of tracks circling the town of Letchworth along with other paths that you can walk, cycle or ride along. When I visited the paths were well maintained and there were a number of people making use of the facilities. Well worth visiting if you want a walk and you can go as far as you want.

Howard park and gardens is a great place to visit on a nice day with the children as they will have a great time. There's a large paddling pool and play area so they will be kept busy for a while. There's also a cafe where you can get a drink and something to eat or even an ice cream too. It's not far from the town centre so after you have been shopping why not come down here to chill out or blow off steam. There is a small parking area which is pay and display but this and the surrounding roads get very busy at weekends and on sunny days in the school holidays.

We were at a loose end and there is not a great deal of entertainment to be had in Letchworth on a Friday morning so went to this little museum. We were really happy we did. It’s all about the history of the garden city movement - which was a social experiment in the early to mid 20th century to provide a decent place to live for both manual workers and middle managers. Letchworth Garden City is the first in England. The museum was small but gives you a good feel for what the designers were wanting to do and why. There was some lovely old film of garden cites being explained to a post WW2 generation. Well worth 30 - 45 mins. No charge and about 10 minutes walk from the town centre.

Back for our pre curry drink - our group of 20 was brilliantly looked after again and welcomed as if we are every day regulars...we come here about once every six months and the attentive and welcoming staff make every one of our visits the perfect start to our evening. This pub is a little gem! Thanks to you all!
