This arts and crafts marketplace offers many places to shop and bargain.
We spend a half day walking through San Juan de Dios Mercado. You want to buy it, you will find it here. All name brand stuff. Levis, Nike, leather goods, food stands, Mexican craft goods, clothes, perfumes. We left with a boat load. The dollar is trading at 20 pesos for a $1. No credit cards, cash only. Use situational awareness as this place is a locals swap meet.

The Biggest Folklore market on Latinoamerica, you can buy local products, eat real mexican food, and found whatever you can imagine, visit it just to meet it, it´s awesome!!
Such an impressive large flea market! Some vendors accept cards but not most. If you do use a credit card the vendor charges anywhere from 3-8% additional to cover their charge for using credit. The Mercado stretches over 2 city blocks and is 3 floors. The 2nd floor mainly has food vendors where you can find menudo, pozole, tacos, tortas ahogadas which the local dish for this area of Jalisco. You can find any type of souvenir to Mexican dresses, shoes any kind of leather and horse equipment along with cowboy boots, kitchenware, and piñatas.
