Luka is a really nice guy, and definitely knows every little story about Zagreb! Not too much walking, but you get to see quite a lot of places - Luka was even nice enough to take photos for us. A very fun tour, highly recommended!

Hiking was on our third day agenda with Karlo and agency. It was just a short ride from Zagreb and you are in this lovely city Samobor and beautifull nature and hills. Partner and I hike a lot but never before had a guide, and with Karlo as experienced hiker we felt safe and well organized. Highlight of the trip- wine tasting of course :) Amazing time, Croatia's nature is so beautifull!

Start with the Village of Kumrovec, where the president of former Yugoslavia was born, far away from the crowds of Zagreb. After a peaceful walk through this village-museum and its traditional houses and traditions, continue to our most famous castle, Trakoscan. The history of the families that owned the castle is very turbulent, so after learning about it, you can relax next to the charming lake and have a snack with a tremendous view of the castle. The tour finishes with the city of Baroque, as they call Varazdin. The numerous palaces and the Old Castle tell a long history of the city that used to be the capital of Croatia. After the tour, private transfer to your hotel or Zagreb city center.

Maja and I met at 9am, and I was the only person booked for the day. I’m normally terrified of having to talk to someone for excessively long periods of time but literally I could not soak up enough information; she knew everything (it seemed!) about the history of Croatia, the Pltivice lakes and surrounding areas, about coffee and food and the best museums and why the travertine grew and why the lakes were a UNESCO site and what a UNESCO site is anyway. At one point I asked her why the trees on the highway were cut the way they were AND SHE KNEW THAT TOO. The visit was gorgeous and one of the most incredible experiences I’ve had in real life; I do believe this is the best Croatia can offer because I think it’s the best any country could hope to offer. I said wow over a hundred times. I cannot recommend this company, or Maja, enough, truly.

We hired Adam at the last second to take us to Plivitce lakes for the day. He was super flexible with timing given that we booked the tour the night before at 11 pm. Adam was a great conversationalist and we enjoyed learning about his experiences during our 2 hour drive to the lakes. He was helpful in showing us around and gave great local suggestions of places to try in Zagreb.
