This is an up close and personal theater with only about 100 seats, and the show we saw, Proof, was very professional and well done. For the students among us, I appreciate that they have a pay what you can night during some parts of the run, which makes this outstanding theater affordable for all. All of the staff was very courteous and welcoming.

The State Theatre is the crown jewel of Tompkins County’s arts community, hosting over 70 events and attracting over 45,000 patrons per year.
First a great performance by Elvis Costello & The Imposters then Josh Gates! A car dealership, then vaudeville theater , movie theater and now renovated into a performance theater. Renovations continue with extremely talented performers performing and movies shown occasionally. One of the last theaters in Ithaca with renovations being done continually. We plan too attend several performances in the future and support the theater. One should attend something there and form there own opinion. One should also visit to see the beautiful interior. BEAUTIFUL!
