St. Mary’s Basilica in bustling Shivajinagar is built in the Gothic style with stained glass windows. It hosts the St. Mary’s Feast each year in September. Devotees throng the basilica during the feast, which culminates in a procession with a chariot.
First of all, This church is the one of the oldest Roman Catholic churches in Bangalore (OUR LADY OF GOOD HEALTH). However, while spending a few time in the basilica always bring awesome experience. St. Mary's basilica bring more spiritual experience because of the ambiance. Had been to this Roman Catholic Church in Bengaluru a long back ago. It is located in Brigade Road. This church was built in 1844 for the Irish soldiers who were stationed there. It's architectural style is Gothic. The facade of this church has twin belfry towers, an arched entrance and a statue of St. Patrick. It's interior has 12 pillared columns, stained glass window panes, wooden pews, a few statues and a huge cross. This church offers services and can seat up to 550 people. There is an ample parking space outside the church. One can see the twin spires can be seen from a distance. Had attended a mass service in this church as a college student. It was so calm and peaceful inside. This church is an ideal holy place of worship for those devotees who would like to seek blessings when in Bengaluru.
