Old world villages and storybook chateaux bedeck the Loire, once fought over by Gauls, Romans, Visigoths and even Attila the Hun. Rent bikes and roll through the lush valley, visiting fortresses in Amboise and Angers, UNESCO-designated Chartres Cathedral and the Gothic cathedral in Nantes. Musee Jules Vernes houses replicas of inventions designed by the futuristic author. Pay respects to other former residents: the Romans in Tours, the cave dwellers of Touraine, and the liberator of Orleans, Joan of Arc.

So easy and so close to old town tours and Rue Colbert, at the end of Rue Nationale, this is an easy stop, a great walk and a great place for a dip breath. Enjoy! Stroll ! Named in honor of President Wilson for the service to France in WW2, this bridge is a fabulous place so view the Loire, Tours and their surroundings. There are also bike paths, trails and walks connected to the bridge. My favorite time is early morning sunrise or early evening sunset. Spectacular!

We recommend biking along the Loire River - flat trail, lots to see and biking over old bridges and then hanging out in old cities is a lot of fun.

Always happy to go to this bridge and beneath it to see the Loire River and wals along it. Beautiful walk

We came to this lovely and picturesque suspension bridge by chance. We were glad we did as this is a truly wonderful spot to take in some fantastic views. This is a bridge for pedestrians and cyclists and it also has some very long history going back to the mid-18th century, and even further back. Worth a visit.
