Atrium Resort & Spa is your getaway in paradise. The smallest island in the world to be shared by two sovereign powers (The Netherlands and France), St. Maarten provides a winning blend of Caribbean hospitality and European sophistication. Rolling hillsides, blue lagoons, and breathtaking views are just a few reasons why so many visitors return every year to this island. With its half-mile of natural beach and an array of nearby water sports, the Atrium is practically paradise. This quiet, beachfront resort overlooks the calm Caribbean Sea and is minutes from the glamorous nightlife and duty-free shopping of both the Dutch and French sides of the island. Adjoining the resort's pool area is a Spanish tapas bar, Picante. In addition to light and delicious fare, Picante also features a jazz club. If tranquility, luxury, and a full-service staff are what you want, then Atrium is the place for you.
Short walk to Restaurants, shopping etc. Love the small intimate beach. Rooms are a bit dated but very clean. Kyle on the beach took good care of us as did the resort staff. If you are looking for quiet this may not be the place for you but if you want to be in the heart of Simpson Bay this is perfect. We will be back.

The Horny Toad is a deliberately small and distinctive guesthouse known for its congenial and unpretentious atmosphere. The original building is a former governor's house tastefully renovated into spacious, fully-equipped apartments. Each of the eight apartments is delightfully different, displaying a personality of its own. All rooms have fully-equipped kitchens, king size beds, complete baths with shower, and daily maid service. Fresh flowers are arranged in the units every day. The guesthouse is on the beach and provides beach chairs, towels and floats. An outdoor barbecue pavilion with two Weber gas grills, table and hammock allow you to enjoy dining beach-side. Simpson Bay beach is a beautiful, uncrowded mile-long beach - just a few steps from each apartment - great for walking, swiming and sunbathing. The Toad has been awarded Fodor's Choice Award each year including the most recent in 2012. They called us the "island's best value" on the Dutch side of St Maarten. This is a No Smoking property. No children under seven years of age, please. We can arrange to have a rental car for your use and stock your unit with food before arrival upon request. There is free high-speed WiFi in all the units and a complimentary computer with internet access and printer in the business center/reception area. Free gated parking on the property. Grocery stores, French bakery, shops and multiple restaurants are within a 5-6 block walk.
This tucked in and buttoned down property is an amazingly beautiful and quaint find. Our crew rented the bottom 4 rooms and were delighted in all aspects of the property and location. The pictures found on the web do not do this place justice it's 100X times more beautiful once you get there! You will not be disappointed:) Amazing views and the guests host owners are the sweetest nicest people. Walk down the beach and enjoy the famous Karakter's Bar and Grill with really good food...Coconut Shrimp are awesome...Sunday dance party is the best! The view of the harbor and mountains on the other side with the clear turquoise waters makes it a top notch experience. When you go and you definitely should give a hug to the island dog we fell in love with that lives next door "Botchie" he will greet you with a warm friendly tail wag that compliments the entire friendly island vibe and makes you want tome back in another life just like him. Cheers and 5 Stars to the Horny Toads Guest House!

Alicia's Inn is a charming family owned inn on the Back Street of Philipsburg St. Maarten. We provide clean and comfortable room ideal for budget travels, shoppers or business travels. You have three rooms types to chose from being the standard twin, standard queen or junior suite. All rooms include a flat screen TVs, coffee makers, hair dryer, small fridge and alarm clocks. Free in room wifi is complimentary to all guests.
I highly recommend Alicia's Inn, especially for solo women travelers. It is right in the middle of Philipsburg, one block from the beach but was quiet. I felt very safe with the locked entrance gate. Barbara was so very welcoming and was happy to chat with me about some local restaurants.

The Residence offers twelve spacious Guest rooms: (facing the lovely Island of Anguilla or/and the coloured village of Grand Case). All the rooms offer private terraces (seaside) or patio on the ground floor and terraces on the first floor (village side). LOVE Residence is located less than 30ft from the « LOVE » hotel. Perfect setting for families, or for couples with all the modern conveniences and yet all the tropical charm of the friendly Island of Saint Martin. In a magical environment, LOVE Hotel & Residence will offer you superb accommodations and hospitality.
The location is excellent. Great restaurants within walking distance. Beach is nice and almost a mile walk from end to end for morning walks. The staff is very nice. The beds comfortable. The AC works for those that like a cold room or turn it off. The construction is newer given a rebuild from the original a couple lots next door. The old building is still standing. We had an upper ocean view with loft. This arrangement with two beds and two baths was great for our family of four. There was bigger than small fridge. Here’s the downside and why it gets 2 stars. There is a terrible sewage smell in room 16 where we stayed. The smell seems to be coming out of all pipes including shower drain, toilet and sink. When you enter the room you gag from the blast of sewage. You get reminders from time to time while in the room. Your clothes start to smell like it. For this single reason, I would advise not staying here. And then there are no beach chairs. Towels on a steep beach is no fun. And also water pressure is terrible. Not functioning for those with thick hair or sand and sunscreen mixed. Impossible to rinse off. There is potential here, but a couple major show stoppers.

One word...Bernice!! The owner couldn't have been more welcoming, accommodating and truly warm spirited! I was treated like a friend from the minute I checked in. Being a solo traveller, this had an amazing impact as it can be a bit lonely in a big anonymous hotel. I was working at the SXM festival at Happy Bay, a 3 minute drive so the location was perfect. Best water pressure I have ever experienced, and no bugs! I am really glad I chose to stay at Over The Hill, it was a great experience and look forward to my return next year. The only advice I have, hit the supermarket as things on the French side of St Martin close early

My husband and I stayed at the Fantastic hotel after walking out of a really poor Airbnb! I had looked at it a few times on Booking.com but somehow didn’t quite fancy it. Big mistake! We booked a room at the last minute as our Airbnb was filthy and we refused to stay. The hotel was very good. Basic, but very good. Two large beds in the room which were very comfortable and a tiny but spotlessly clean shower room. The room wasn’t the most modern but everything worked, including the air con,the staff were friendly and helpful and the location close enough to walk to the restaurants at Fort Louis in Marigot. Wish I’d booked it in the first place! We didn’t eat at the hotel as we met our daughter at the marina for a meal so can’t comment on the food. Would I recommend- yes, though it’s perhaps more suitable for short stays. Would I return? I would if I wanted to stay in Marigot.
