This small, charming bed and breakfast was fully renovated in 2014 and offers comfortable, modern accommodation in the centre of Santa Margherita Ligure, just a few metres from the sea. Located in the centre of the traditional, pretty, little town of Santa Margherita Ligure, it is perfect as a charming, comfortable base from which to explore the surrounding region. Santa Margherita Ligure is known as the Pearl of the Tigullio, and is just 5 km from Portofino. Teh MA hotel is a wonderful, relaxing haven for travellers wishing to explore the natural beauty of Liguria and the wonderful landscapes of the Riviera di Levante. The comfortable and elegant rooms are well-appointed and fully-equipped with all modern facilities, including connession wi-fi free, flat-screen plasma TVs with satellite channels and electronic safety deposit boxes. Sleeping with ants!
Reviewed By mervecipliWe really liked the fact that its close to the beach and sea also to the city centre. The room was spacious but i think it was a bit expensive given the circumstances. However, breakfast was included so it balanced out. The staff was really helpful and lovely. In the middle of the night, we woke up and saw a lot of ants in our room, which was not so nice. Also there was a lot of noise coming from outside mainly cars and motorcycles. Next day, we told what happened to the reception, we wanted to change our room, after showing them the ants they changed with a smaller one, but at least there was no ants, they also offered a champagne as a compliment.

Welcoming, clean, good location
Reviewed By Sue BWe only stayed two nights but the staff were very welcoming and very helpful in sorting out our parking. We stayed in the "old" part of the hotel, tucked away from the modern front as for just two nights we were looking for value for money. The room was clean and simply furnished, getting to it from reception was a bit of a walk but we were taken there and shown the room. Breakfast was in the main modern part of the hotel and there was the normal faye on offer. Location is a prime selling point as it is a quick drive to Portofino and a short walk to restaurants. The hotel is on a busy road but we were not disturbed by the traffic. If staying longer than a couple of nights I think the main building is a preferred option as it is far more contemporary and less dark than the annexe.

Worst welcome to the hotel
Reviewed By omarahli1I have been to so many 5 star hotels across italy. By far, this hotel has the worst staff to welcome you. They insisted to see our original passports and refused to see the copies even though we explained to them that we have our original copies in our luggage and we’ll go to the room upstairs and get it for them. The staff initially refused to give us our room key and wanted us to open all our luggage in the lobby in front of everyone and look for our passports. They are not friendly and not understanding at all. This is one of the worst hotels I’ve been to in Italy. The room is very small and the view is not what we expected. They also provided us with a key that has a different room number on it. For a 5 star hotel, I am shocked. I do not recommend this hotel at all and if I could go back in time I would book a room in another hotel.

Location con vista pazzesca con camere graziose e comode, vicino anche a Portofino. Posto perfetto per coppie e famiglie. E' possibile essere completamente autonomi grazie alle chiavi che ci hanno fornito all'arrivo. Postilla importante riguarda il parcheggio privato, visto che è impossibile trovarne di liberi in alta stagione! Buona cucina e personale accogliente, clima famigliare e tranquillo. Pulizia top e vista spettacolare sul porto di Santa Margherita Ligure Posto immerso nel verde a pochi minuti dal mare, camere pulitissime e ottima cucina. Bonus per il personale accogliente e sempre disponibile!
