Situated in Padron, the nerve centre of connections of the atlantic coast of Galicia, A Casa Antiga do Monte is at 15 minutes from Santiago and 20 minutes from Low In-Lets.Although the hotel is a recent construction, preserves the architecture of this Galician area. Its large balconies of forged iron, stone fronts and comfortable spaces shows us this typical architecture. The charm of this rural complex captivates to the visitors of this region.Stone walls in the shared areas and wallpapered in pale colors in rooms are combined inside. The typical fireplace fired dominates the sitting-dinning room while the calmness longed for the guest floods the rooms. Its gardens preserves an "horreo" (typical galician construction) of the 18th century, and guests can enjoy a picnic spot and a large swimming pool with wonderful views of the surrounding area. The hotel is holded by the son of the owner helped by a young staff which are really excited with this proyect. The rural house boasts of large and comfortable rooms with bathroom, digital TV, telephone, background music, internet wifi, balconies and terraces. Besides of the swimming pool and picnic spot, guests can enjoy sport courts, sauna, gymnasium and... In the surroundigns golf, canoeing, fishing...
I write in english, because here at tripadvisor "A Casa Antiga do Monte" claims to speak english. - we spent one night in the opposite house: entering the building -> it smells musty. And our room: mouldy. Could only sleep with windows wide open. Nevertheless always the terrible smell. - And the staff? UNFRIENDLY. - Yes. I am sorry, that we don't speak spain. But up to now we always find a way to communicate. - And: Pool: only temporary in use (and on the ground on the opposite... old and shabby - not nice). NEVER AGAIN

Beautiful surrounding but low on service. No lunch menu of importance and very low competence of staff. We don't have cognac in the bar on 4 star hotel, stay clear imo. There is a fundamental lack iinthe customer understanding, And it's 15 minutes backwards in the amino.

This is a genuinely lovely spot about 5-6km past Padrón. There is both an Albergue and a hotel here in this lovely building with a pool out back and both a beautiful old church and a small restaurant right outside the doors. Clean, friendly and you have a much easier walk to Santiago than if you stop in the city of Padrón. Very glad we stayed here!

This hotel is not a highlight of our Camino walk, but it served us well. We were treated well and had a clean room and nondescript breakfast. Location is excellent, just a block off the trail. We'd gladly stay here again.

We stopped here for the night while hiking the Camino Portugues in September 2015. It wasn't anything fancy but we had a clean room and nice hot shower. You had to go down to the restaurant for the wifi but that was ok. The food was ok, again nothing to fancy, just ordered from the bar but we were hungry and it filled us up. Got up early for the next day into Santiago so didn't eat there for breakfast. Location is good.
