Wonderful stay, really friendly and helpful owners who go out of their way to make guests feel welcome.Did the full day Addo trip and evening boat trip and can honestly say that both were awesome. If you visit then please go the dune fields. Never seen anything like them in my life. You can walk for miles , see no one and they are simply stunningly beautiful. Visited mainly to see Addo but it's the dunes that will live long in my memory.

Sundune Guest House is nestled on the banks of the beautiful Sundays river. There are five bedrooms, all are en suite. A super market is walking distance away. There is a dining room and a guest lounge. The Addo Elephant National Park is situated a mere 3 km away from Sundune Guest House.
Warm welcome. The booked room was not wat we expected. Were upgraded to the room upstairs with kitchenette, lounge balcon and view over grassy garden. Happy with that room otherwise we would have left. Very close to Engen, Spar and restaurant so you can walk. Colchester had no water during our stay but there was a bucket with water from the rain barrel. Also loadsheddings. Bed very comfortabele. Pool is at a place 2 houses next door. Looked good. Staff made a nice breakfast. Not earlier then 7.30 in case you want to leave early for Addo.

Located just outside the margins of Port Elizabeth, where rolling grasslands, fynbos covered slopes, and illustrious coastal forests meet. Parkview Lodge offers its guests, the restorative experience of a lifetime. At Parkview Lodge, you will step into an Out of Africa experience, filled with all the luxuries and indulgence that will make your experience truly memorable. Choose to stay in one of our 3 Guestrooms in the Main Building, which have a TV installed, for those who still want to keep in touch with the outside world. For the more adventurous at heart, we have five tented rooms, set in the more verdure part of the estate. We will treat the traveler to unique cuisine from our fully equipped kitchens. Parkview Lodge also offers something the early explorers never had but is essential to any African Adventure: Depending on the time of year, our guests can lounge by the pool, enjoying our Africa Sun and enjoying some justified leisure time.
When we arrived, the hotel asked if we had a booking so we assumed they had forgotten. We were taken to our tent which had not been opened so it had a musty smell. The windows were not rolled up and we were told to do it ourselves. The fridge was still off so no ice, although they did bring a huge bag when requested. We were the only guests so the first night the kitchen was closed as they sent all the staff home that day. The following day we had to order dinner during breakfast. The braai had not been cleaned and was full of ash and cigarettes. The evenings we slept freezing as there was only 2 warm blankets for the 3 of us and no warm gowns as advertised. The second day when there was staff, they were friendly and helpful. At R1000.00 per person per night I expected a bit more.

80 On Wellington is a gay owned and managed guest house located in Colchester only 5km from the Addo Elephant Park Southern Entrance and 42 km from the Port Elizabeth International Airport on the N2 towards Grahamstown. 80 On Wellington has 3 en-suite rooms and 2 double rooms sharing a bathroom.
This place is very close to the south gate of Addo E. P., so it is was very comfortable after a full day. Tinnie is so friendly and caring and his breakfast is great - so many homemade things. Tip: Take time for the drive to the river mouth - it is a private park, the drive starts right behind the Spar.

Addo Gateway Lodge (Guest House) is situated in a safe and tranquil village on the banks of the beautiful Sundays River, only 45km East of Port Elizabeth/Nelson Mandela Bay on the N2. This beautiful destination is well-placed in relation to all major Eastern Cape Game Reserves such as Shamwari, Schotia and Zuurberg to name just a few, and is a mere stones throw away from the Southgate and Camp Matyholweni (Southern entrance) of the Addo Elephant National Park.
An unexpected visit at Sunday's river turned into a fantastic stay over. Les & Maggie are the perfect hosts. We were very spoilt with lots of entertainment, loved the braai with its fire bricks. The bonsai garden was very impressive (not to be missed) Our cottage was home away from home and the electric blanket was a welcomed surprise. Can highly recommend ADDO GATEWAY LODGE. Thank you Maggie & Les for making our stay a memorable one ??
