The Alberni Valley's finest accommodation, serving business and leisure travelers alike with exceptional value in elegant surroundings. At the 4-star Cedar Wood Lodge, you will enjoy a unique and tasteful blend of old and new. Nestled into two and one-half acres of heritage gardens and old-growth cedars along the scenic Somass River in Port Alberni, British Columbia, the Cedar Wood Lodge, built new in 1998, is furnished with modern comforts and beautiful antiques. The spacious guest lounge encompasses a fine billiards table, two small libraries, a relaxing sitting area, fireplace, and garden view bistro dining room where the complimentary daily breakfast buffet is served. The delicious and nutritious breakfast includes a selection of fresh fruit, yogurts,home-baked breads, muffins, scones, croissants and coffee cakes, and home-made granolas and jams and hot oatmeal. Beverages include a variety of chilled fruit juices, milk, freshly ground premium French-pressed Arabica coffee, and a generous selection of the finest teas from around the world.
We came into Port Alberni after a long drive only to find that most of the rooms were booked with a convention and the Cops for Cancer crew. But after the assistance of the Best Western staff we are able to find a room at the Cedar Wood Lodge. What a beautiful place and the owners made us feel welcomed. I highly recommend staying there.

Please come and join us for an overnight experience you will not forget! Our 1944 converted tugboat is simply gorgeous! Includes 8 state rooms, 6 bathrooms-5 with showers, large salon, 900 sq' deck and hot tub. French Moroccan chef and so much more! Come sleep right on top of the water with gentle swaying, 360 degree outstanding views. We have a fine dining restaurant on board by reservation.
My girlfriend and I stumbled upon this gem in September - we called it the “botel” and decided we couldn’t pass this opportunity for a new experience. While the cabins may be small (and charming), they are very clean and come with a view of the marina. The owners prepared an amazing Moroccan style breakfast every morning; a different morning, a different flavor. Dan is the nicest of hosts, he knows very well the area around and suggested great spots. Overall this was a great experience - highly recommended for a short period.

We have been trying to get to the west coast for some time and I found this property on line. The rate was quite a bit lower than most hotels in the area but I wanted to go so we took a chance and booked it. Don't let the exterior turn you off as the room was very clean and very large. We had a very comfortable night and the room was equipped with fridge, coffee maker and lots of towels. The location is great we walked to the Wild Pacific Trail and be right in the town you have access to all the shops and restaurants. We would stay there again as it is a great option when the sky high prices of the resort hotels tend to keep us away.

We are a true bed & breakfast, entertaining guests in our own home and providing a great breakfast.
Remember when a B&B was all about meeting others and the host gave you great food, and tips on what to see? That's Outdoor Lovers. We spent two nights here as a base to explore the Alberni Inlet area. We should have spent another day. Our room was comfortable, we had a large shared bathroom next door. Our rate included breakfast AND dinner. Dinner gave us time to chat with the guests from the other two rooms. Bill and Millie are super hosts. They cleary care about their business. Bill is a great cook and knows all the trails in the area. All guests are asked what could be done to improve and they listen. We felt welcome. That's what a B&B should be and what Outdoor Lovers is. It's a great place to stay!

This suite was ideal for a romantic getaway. We loved the quiet location, which is still close to the town of Ucluelet. The free breakfast was outstanding - it arrived in little baskets at our door, fresh, home cooked and included locally roasted coffee. We were 5 minutes walk from Majestic Kayak Tours (which I also highly recommend!) so it's perfect if you plan to do some kayaking. The bed was super comfortable. The fire in the room is safe and makes it very cosy, with generous materials provided. The jacuzzi was big with powerful jets and the toiletries and robes provided were a nice touch. Thank you Kevin for giving us our privacy, delicious breakfast (at short notice!) and a wonderful stay at Hyphocus Inn. We will be back!

We stayed for three nights in the Uncle John. Spacious, quiet, spotless, very well equipped. Good location. Easy access (although not "accessible"). The pandemic stopped the breakfast but there is a well equipped kitchenette and the local Coop is a lovely store. Good television and good lighting.

Received notification that our booking was cancelled ONE DAY before our trip to Ucluelet without any kind of explanation or personalized apology. Was forced to quickly book with a more expensive and last minute option. Put a damper on my planned birthday weekend trip. Thanks for nothing.
