Mount Desert (pronounced “dessert”) Island is the largest isle in Maine and the second largest on the U.S. Eastern Seaboard. Though it boasts a small residential community, Mount Desert claims more than two million visitors each year; all of whom are enamored with its quaint feel, stunning beaches, and access to saltwater and freshwater lakes. Popular water activities include kayaking, fishing, and canoeing, though many prefer to take in amazing sunrises and scenic vistas while exploring one of the island’s 25 trails.

Christopher's passion for wildlife, desire to study them in their natural habitat, and ultimately capture their essence, is truly a gift. Inside this unique gallery one will find the largest individual collection in the Northeast of exquisite wildlife sculptures that will not only amaze but inspire. Please come and enjoy all of the magnificent creations from Alaska's intriguing bald eagles to Africa's majestic elephants. Showcasing Russell D'Alessio who is known for his colorful expressionist figurative works this Bar Harbor, Maine artist has been a living, working Maine resident for four decades. Fascinated by people, their movements and expressions, his spontaneous abstract use of paint and composition entwined with his sense of humor express bold gestures with subtle expressions.
I walked by this beautiful art gallery and am so happy I decided to go in. The art work is beautiful, very impressive and there is such a vibrant energy once you enter and take it all in. You're nicely left alone to look at the art work, but I made it a point to ask about it. I met Linda, the wife of this beautiful artist and I was able to meet Russ the artist himself the next day. They are such an amazing lovely couple and made me feel so welcome! Russ explained some of his art work to me and how this process is a journey for him each and every time. In addition, there is a screen that shows the process of Russ creating his painting. I highly recommend you set foot into this gallery. You can stroll for a couple of minutes or probably stay an afternoon, but I guarantee either way it will be worth your while.

Owners Shawn and Lorin were both so helpful and personable! Their two family operated gift shops in Bar harbor really stand out above the rest with great service, helpfulness, and the merchandise stood out too. So glad we visited both stores. And like many other stores in Bar Harbor, they welcomed our pup inside to shop. ????

I was looking for interesting art for my backyard, and came across Ernie's and found the most ornate steampunk art. I could not believe the detail that went into each piece. I ended up speaking with Ernie for a long time sharing stories of world travels and buying a motorcycle piece. We were due with a baby soon and he gave us a small perfume bottle he used to decorate the motorcycle with that he acquired in Nepal in his travels for our baby girl. I loaded a bunch of pictures to help him get his brand out there as his art is surely missed by many passing cars. Do stop in please.
