Uttarakhand (English: /ˌʊtəˈrɑːkʌnd/), officially the State of Uttarakhand (Uttarākhaṇḍ Rājya), formerly known as Uttaranchal, is a state in the northern part of India. It is often referred to as the Devbhumi (literally "Land of the Gods") due to many Hindu temples and pilgrimage centres found throughout the state. Uttarakhand is known for the natural environment of the Himalayas, the Bhabhar and the Terai. On 9 November 2000, Uttarakhand became the 27th state of the Republic of India, being created from the Himalayan and adjoining northwestern districts of Uttar Pradesh. It borders Tibet to the north; the Province No. 7 of Nepal to the east; and the Indian states of Uttar Pradesh to the south and Himachal Pradesh to the west and north-west as well as Haryana on its south-western corner. The state is divided into two divisions, Garhwal and Kumaon, with a total of 13 districts. The interim capital of Uttarakhand is Dehradun, the largest city of the state, which is a railhead. The High Court of the state is located in Nainital.

Our tour guide was extremely patient and courteous while taking us to various places. He took out the time to explain the history and significance of each place and was very knowledgeable. We were able to explore each place with sufficient time and left with lot of valuable information about Kolkata and the history behind the historic landmarks. We were able to cover lot of places in the allocated time, we didn’t visit all the locations on the agenda however. The tour guide was friendly overall and was happy to accommodate our lunch request and drove us to the restaurant as well. Overall this was a fun way to get the feel of the city and its beautiful architecture. I recommend this tour. I think it would be nice to bring print out of kolkata map marking all the places that are planned for the day to know which direction the places are at.

Ramesh and Gaurav were some of the best humans and tour Guides we have ever met! They were always there to answer any questions as well as give advice on what to see, do, etc. highly recommend!!!!! They did an Incredible job planning and consulting with us before the trip as well! We did the golden triangle tour as a couple and had one of the most amazing experiences. This was my first ever river rafting experience and I am glad that I choose to go with White World Expeditions. Courteous, informative and welcoming staff. I found out about them online and went in person to book my rafting for 10 KM, but after speaking to them for just few minutes I decided to go with 26 KM one for the next day first in the morning. I paid and left for the day. Next day morning there was a reminder call and when I reached on time everything was ready, the vehicle, the equipment and the guide who was going to take us through the rafting. Oh boy, it was a wonderful experience from the start, when we reached the spot two more participants joined me and total we were 3 with one guide and one additional guide following us on a Kayak. The vehicle dropped us and left to the end point. Our guide gave use the personal floating devices (PFD), a paddle and a dry bag. We were briefed about the techniques on how to hold the paddle, how to paddle, what are different call outs, how to respond, safety tips for about 20 mins and then we were asked to board on and start the rafting. It was overall an 3hr+ memorable rafting experience which I will remember for a very long time. The guide had a go pro and recorded during the rapids, over all we had about 13 different rapids. I without any second thought paid and took the video clips. Overall a great experience with White World Expeditions. I do not want to compare then with anyone else as I have not tried anyone else or even made an attempt to talk to anyone else before I booked rafting with White World Expeditions, my first interaction and experience were so good and I would definitely recommend this to any one looking for River Rafting in Rishikesh.

We booked a 9 day golden triangle tour with Royal Rajasthan Travels in Sep. Communication was excellent during planning, booking a bespoke tour for our specific date and location requests. They wrote a seamless itinerary including all hotels, guides at each location, private driver and car for the duration plus connecting train tickets. We went for the 4* accommodation option: the hotels were a mix of modern and traditional luxury hotels, all faultless and in great locations. Our driver Sanjay was the star of the trip and a credit to the company. He knitted the trip together perfectly, always at the right location at the right time, with cold bottled water and an infectious smile. The car was comfortable and we felt safe at all times – he was clearly experienced on the crazy Indian roads! Although not a professional guide he offered local and cultural knowledge along the journey and on occasions took us to local sights not on the schedule. Nothing was too much trouble for the company and they were very flexible when we wanted to change one of the planned days and add in an evening trip. The guides at each city varied in quality, but overall they were very good. A couple felt a bit rushed but conversely others went above and beyond. The Royal Rajasthan rep in Agra also excellently managed a crisis when our planned overnight train was cancelled, rebooking us on a different train and Sanjay getting us there in record time, meaning we didn’t have a delay at all in the end! Overall it was a fantastic trip: a perfect blend of stress-free luxury and culture. Excellent value for money (much more so than self booking) and we would highly recommend booking a similar tour with Royal Rajasthan Travels.
