This sunset trip is one of the best trips in the world. In the southern part of Oman, on a single day, you will be seeing the largest desert of the World "Empty Quarter" that spreads across many countries of the Middle East. What else could be better than a walk on the desert and seeing the setting sun. You will see the historical site of Ubar at the town of Shisr, known as The Lost City or Ubar or Atlantis of the Sand or the city of the pillars. This city was used for the trade of Frankincense, which was once traded as Gold and Silver. You will also see the 5 square kilometer spread plantation of Frankincense tree on the natural reserve at Wadi Dawkah. This is a UNESCO World Heritage Site for the frankincense trade. The drive will be in 4x4 vehicle through Al Qara Mountains with amazing views of Salalah city. Dinner will be served before dropping off.

This is the only group guided tour from Salalah cruise terminal, which is catered to the requirement of the cruise passengers. In the short time when the cruise is berth, the passengers will be taken to the exotic journey for exploring the diversity of Salalah, the second largest city in Sultanate of Oman. The pick up will be from the inside of the port. The customers shouldn't take the shuttle bus from the terminal to the outside. So this will be very convenient for the pick up. The tour will take you to Sultan Qaboos Mosque, which is the largest mosque in the Southern Oman and then to the largest indoor Museum - Frankincense Land Museum. The tour includes visit to an ancient port of Al Baleed, which is a UNESCO Heritage site. Haffa Souq is an open air traditional market selling frankincense, perfumes, Omani Dresses and Souvenirs. The tour bus will pass through the palace of the Sultan and the coconut and banana farms. You will go to the largest modern mall in Dhofar at the end.

Alice, Geraldina and the local Bedouin guide Bukhit were incredible hosts. The camp was clean and cosy and the team prepared me a vegetarian meal which was so delicious! It was a super special stay, with interesting fireside chats, stargazing and singing. Thank you for such a beautiful trip and I hope to visit again soon!
