There were thirteen of us that toured the winery today. We’ve been to a lot of The so called Vineyards around Fredericksburg. This little family owned vineyard had nine acres of all different kinds of grapes. The owner Margaret was awesome in educating us on so many of the steps and hard work it takes to make a great glass of wine. The property is beautiful. You can bring a picnic lunch and sit in the shade while you enjoy a glass of wine. Well worth the $30 we each paid for this tour and tasting. Thank you Margaret! We will come again.

290Vinery is a winery and tasting room. We feature wines from Texas and the world for tastings, by the glass, bottle & wine club. We make wine from our own Estate Tempranillo and Tannat Vines in addition to purchasing Texas grapes from the hardworking High Plains and Hill Country Farmers. We are also proud to serve other Texas wines from across the state. Our 290Vinery wines are 100% Texas grown.

Texas Hills Vineyard is located in the gentle hills of the picturesque Pedernales River Valley in the Texas Hill Country near Johnson City. A perfect location for growing quality grapes, the intense Texas sun by day and the cooler hill country nights gives our grapes an intense and quality flavor, ideal for wines. Texas grown grapes for Texas Wines. We focus on organic growing and new world style process of making wine. Our tasting room is made from rammed pressed earth nestled into the hillside overlooking our gorgeous 19 year old, 25 acre vineyard. Come out, enjoy the wine and the view with our friendly tasting room staff.
We stopped after climbing Enchanted Rock in the morning. The winery had an excellent tasting that provides so much temptation to buy high quality wines. The staff was friendly and able to provide guidance based on our tastes. The patio was a relaxing place to eat sausage and cheese with a very good wine while listening to live music.

We had an excellent time here. We popped in and found a wide variety of wines on tap from Texas and other places - the Texas Chenin Blanc was simply delicious and the Washington State Syrah was incredibly mellow and flavorful. Who knew wines could be on tap? Daniel and Sally were great hosts and really know their wines - we learned a lot talking with them. We didn’t have any of the wine cocktails, but lots of people were drinking them and we heard many good comments about how good they were. It’s a laid back, fun place. We’ll be back!
