The earliest vines in Nova Scotia were planted in around 1610 by Champlain's hard-working band of settlers. It was and still is great to relax to a glass of wine after a hard day's work. Today the wine industry in Nova Scotia has grown to become a proud addition to the province's economy. We will begin our tour with the narration of the areas of our intended sites. Our first visit will be at the Domaine de Grand Pre Winery, where we will spend about two hours exploring this site. We will spend the day investigating the various vineyards where you can take in the beauty and sample their unique offerings. This is a day that is spent outdoors so please dress appropriately for this tour. Walking shoes are ideal.

The tour starts with an entertaining story of how the Nova Scotia wine industry came to be on our way to the first winery, Sainte-Famille Wines. You'll learn all about our cool climate wines with a private vineyard tour and wine tastings at two award-winning wineries. The second winery, Avondale Sky, is housed inside a restored church built in 1836. A tasty bistro-lunch here is also included! The final stop, Meander River Farm and Brewery will delight you! Alongside tasting their craft beer and cider, you'll walk the grounds to see the adorable pigs and expansive lavender patch and flower gardens.

The third winery is our oldest established winery, Grand Pre Wines. Here you'll take a stroll through the vineyard to learn about the grape-growing process followed by a private wine tasting of 5 award-winning wines. Then relax on the vine covered pergola and savour a two-course gourmet lunch paired with a glass of wine. The lunch is chef-created based on food allergies and dietary restrictions provided by the travelers and includes an appetizer and a choice of two entrees.
