2 Years ago some friends of ours told us about this tour. We did not know much about the Etruscans or Tarquinia - what an experience! The guide picked us up at our hotel in Civitavecchia and we drove to the cute little town of Tarquinia - then out to where the Etruscans were buried in caves underground. There are about 20 different graves that you have to walk down many steps to be able to see - each one holds unique colorful murals. Then we ate a fabulous Italian lunch and then to the Etruscan museum to see all the artifacts that have been discovered. Our guide took us on a tour of the old city in Tarquinia and then back to the hotel late afternoon - very unique excursion that we highly recommend!
2. Wine & Culture tour in the north of Rome

After the museum you move towards to Civita Bagnoreggio located in Tuscia on the border between Tuscany and Lazio. At 1 pm we arrive in Montefiascone for a wine tour and visit at Leonardi Winery. The Antica Cantina Leonardi was established in Montefiascone early in the 1900s by the passion of a young entrepreneur, in love with his land and its wines. After the wine tasting you visit Palazzo Farnese, one of the most important High Renaissance palaces in Rome.

This tour far exceeded our expectations! At first we were a little surprised to be told we were going to a saffron farm, as that hadn't been mentioned previously. It actually turned out to be a fascinating experience. We got to try the local saffron, including saffron infused beer, honey along with some of the local cheese and meats. We then went to castello tricerchi for a tour of a vineyard, cellars and the castle itself. The place was stunningly beautiful, and we got to have a wine tasting in the castle itself. After that we went to Martoccia which was another beautiful vineyard just outside montalcino. The cellar tour was fascinating, and it was followed by a 4 course lunch with wine tasting. The food was spectacular, and the wine was incredible. We were lucky enough to be able to try the new 2015 brunello which hadn't even been labelled yet. Our tour guide Nadia was extremely knowledgable and very relaxed. The tour actually finished 2 hours late, but she didn't seem to mind. She even let us store our wine in her office so we could go and explore Montalcino in the evening. Fantastic tour. Would thoroughly recommend

We had an excellent time making pasta and drinking wine with friends and new acquaintances. The day was filled with pasta making, wine drinking, and a tour of the property. We also enjoyed being carinated by our chef. I would highly recommend this excursion!

7. Full-Day Bolsena and Montefiascone Private Tour from Rome
Depart from Rome and reach the enchanting lake of Bolsena, visiting the next surroundings. Bolsena is also known for the miracle of Corpus Domini, linked to the Eucharistic prodigy that took place in 1263, when a priest, while celebrating mass at the tomb of St. Cristina, saw drops of blood gushing from a consecrated host. The priest, doubtful about the dogma of transubstantiation had to change his mind and this miracle was the reason why Pope Urban IV in 1264 instituted the feast of Corpus Domini. Montefiascone, a small village that, for its peculiar position on the very top of the Lake, was chosen as the defensive bulwark of the ecclesiastical kingdom. My mom and I were in Rome exactly one year ago. We decided to book the early morning tour, including the pickup from the hotel. Both the driver and guide were on time. We were able to enter the Museums at 8am, before the opening to the general public (at 9am). The guide was very knowledgeable and friendly, he guided us through the magnificent galleries, Sistine chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica. Overall great experience. Even the concierge recommended us this tour agency, but we were lucky enough to have found it on our own before the trip, trusting all the positive reviews, and we’re very glad we did. I highly recommend this company, they are professional, honest and passionate about what they do.
