Windy Gyle lived up to it’s name, pretty good walk not to challenging and decent views. The next day Hedgehope was 55mile/hr winds so that was really challenging. Didn’t want to stay long at the top holding onto the trig point. The next day the weather calmed and we did The Cheviot via the long walk up the valley, great views and I’d recommend the valley route which is Langleeford up to Cairn Hill then up onto the Cheviot itself????

My friend Margaret and I booked two x 1hr 30mins hacks last Saturday and Sunday. We are both experienced riders and were well suited with the horses we were partnered with. What a fabulous time we had!! I rode a horse called Calley and Margaret rode Larry for both hacks. When we arrived at the stables we were greeted by Hollie and the stable helpers. They were so pleasant and welcoming. The hacking was superb around the countryside with next to no roadwork. On Sunday afternoon we hacked out with Hilary (manager) and two different stable hands who were so lovely. Hilary knew the horses inside out and gave us a few tips on the horses likes/dislikes which was so helpful. What we were so impressed about was the condition of all the horses we saw at the stables and in the fields. They are so well looked after which is very important to us. We cannot recommend this riding stables highly enough. We were so well looked after both days. Thank you all so much.
