We truly enjoyed stopping along the Lock and Dam’s on the Wisconsin side - the Mississippi River towns that were locked around them are fun to tour through - some even have Restaurants located beside them, and Wine stores across the road from them. Great day trip.

Ranked as a "superior ski and snowboarding resort" by Ski Magazine, this area boasts 50 runs, terrain parks and a one-half pipe on Ski Bob.
Best terrain for skiing, best lifts, best grooming, and the best food. Unfortunately all of the ski areas in Midwest suffer from dated chalets. The food prices have gone up here over the past few years, but are still much less than Afton Alps, but deliver much better food than they do. Overall this is the best skiing. It's less than 30 minutes from the south side of the Twin Cities, took 37 Minutes from Downtown St. Paul.
