Beautiful lake surrounded by acres of forest and miles of hiking trails: great for fishing and bird watching.
A true modern adventure if you duck hunt. There is exciting and heart pounding action to be had if you run into a local as they may decide to murder you and then commit suicide not far from where they leave your dead body. Be careful, it's not a place for people unfamiliar with war zones.

This park is a unique ecosystem of flooded forest. The water dwelling cyprus trees, the array of birds including pelicans, bald and golden eagles, as well as the annual eagle festival are all main attractions at this park. There are also fully equipped campsites, a museum and nature center, as well as a banquet hall for events. More information on this park and many more can be found at the TN State Parks website.
A friend and I made plans to check out Reelfoot Lake State Park to take advantage of the Eagle Tour and decide if it would be a good girl’s trip destination. We made reservations for the Eagle Bus Tour with Vanessa over the phone. She was incredibly kind and helpful, providing easy to follow directions once we arrived. Although the Visitor Center was under construction, they still offered a good selection of souvenir items, had several wildlife displays of local animals (snakes ????), and such exceptionally helpful and friendly customer service. Vanessa and the other receptionist couldn’t have been nicer!!! Our driver for the bus tour, Warren D., was so incredibly hospitable and informative!!! He ensured we saw as many Bald Eagles as possible as well as pointing out and identifying other wildlife throughout the 2 hour tour. He taught us about the history of the area, the Mississippi River, flora, fauna. I cannot believe how much we learned from him, how very entertaining he was, and what great pride he took in where he lives and his career. What a great ambassador to such an incredibly special place. Thanks to everyone for making our visit such a success. We will definitely see you again soon!
