We visited during a lazy Sunday and were very surprised by the size of the operation. Hopfengut #20 is beautifully situated between vast fields of hops in a hilly country-side. There's a museum, a guided tour, a restaurant and a designated tasting area (and possibly other things). We skipped the tour since we felt our German skills weren't up to the task. The food at the restaurant was good and the beer even better. We tried every variant of beer, and it was a great experience. The tasting area also sells their beer on bottles, so we recommend buying a few when you're there. Dear Hopfengut #20, please add an English tour of your beautiful place. We think people would come.

How about a journey through the 18th century? Even today, the magnificent building bears witness to the representational status of the Counts of Montfort and their luxurious lifestyle. The rich interior design of the rooms was created by the greatest artist of the Lake Constance region at that time.
If in Tettnang, you should visit this castle. Actually this is the new castle, because the owners at the time considered the old castle (now the Rathaus) not wealthy enought for 18th Century standards. The owners in the late 18th Century got bankrupt when part of the castle burned down and they were burdened by the astronomical costs for repairs. Now it is owned by German authorities and partially used to house offices.
