In a struggling country down this little shop in the middle of the street is an oasis of fabulous homewares to buy and the BEST chickpea brownies and brownie mix! I know...chickpea brownies....don’t knock it til you try it. Owner lives on a local farm and produces chick peas......so why not chick pea brownies. It your anywhere near Rupanyup you must visit. Great coffee and grab a brownie. You can also buy the mix on line. Go ahead and be bold buy some; help a community and make yourself an awesome brownie. I’m all for supporting good local business. Bought some awesome cutlery too....who would have thought you’d find a store like this in the middle of a small country town!

Rupanyup Silo Art

Taking a couple of days to do the Silo Art Trail is a must. They are amazing. I hope they have an ongoing maintenance plan for them. Sadly the towns they are based in appear to be really struggling and need our support. Stayed in van at Rupanyup: lots of empty/closed shops and pub permanently closed. Also stayed in Hopetoun: there community hotel open and was awesome for a meal. Highly recommend the tour and stop at the local towns and buy something if you can: it’s worth supporting the local communities.

If you're doing the Silo Art Trail or just passing through stop and check out this wonderful mural of a firefighter. Easy to find on the main road it's located on the corner of the building facing the road. Great art work.
