This small museum has carefully mounted birds from all over Iceland. A great spot to see how many you've already identified as well as to figure out what those little birds in the lake as you entered the museum were (phalaropes).

I don't understand why this doesn't get 5 stars from every reviewer! The uniquely Icelandic pseudocraters were caused by explosions of steam bubbling through hot lava as it flowed over wet moorland. The pseudocraters are up to 300m in diameter and look like a series of extinct volcanoes. A fascinating 3km walk enables you to examine this amazing landscape up close.

Such a fascinating quick stop! You can climb down over rocks into these caves to see beautiful blue hot water below. Be careful as you climb, since it is very uneven and you will probably have to use your hands. This is a must do if you are in the Myvatn area. Many people were also extremely excited because of this being in Game of Thrones.
