We happened upon this beautiful church during a full church ceremony. We enjoyed to be able to stand at the entrance and view the ceremony. Especially pleased to record a song in Spanish that I recognized. Sat and viewed the central square afterwards. We had no need to pay for a tour to see it.

A quaint local spot....beautiful location, and majestic waterfall awaits. c4,000 seemed a bit high to pay, but we did, and had a delightful time.

Poas has been active but we took a chance and hiked this little trail to the waterfall. Did not risk the actual trail to Poas, but the trails we took were well maintained. Beautiful vegetation, butterflies and birds can be seen along the way and there is a nice lookout point.

An overwhelming assortment of fresh fruit & vegetables many that you would recognize and many that you won't know. Often the vendors will let you try a sample. The meat and chicken at a great price. Oh, and let's not forget the bakery goods, and if you get hungry there is an assortment of items to buy in the booths or several sodas (small open air cafes) in the feria.
Just try not to buy too much! Enjoy oh, and buy coffee from Gabriel who grows and roasts his own coffee. The best in Costa Rica. It is not to be missed even if you are not planning to buy anything.

Our tour stopped here for a few minutes for everyone to photograph/visit the Cathedral. It is the only metal Cathedral in the western hemisphere or maybe Central America. Beautiful both inside and out. Take a few pictures. Don't interrupt those here for confession or prayer. And be sure to drop a few colones in the box. The park outside was loud and crowded with a nice Fountain and families enjoying the late afternoon. Go across the street and get a popsicle too.

Went there specifically for a hair supply store, which didn't open until 11 am, not much going on even though it was Friday only a few stores open at that hour. There was a small movie theater and lots of shops. I would go back.
