Had a great visit this evening! The Alpacas were friendly and even the 'shyer' ones were eating out of the kid's hands. Learned quite a bit about Alpacas and had lots of fun! And now I own an Alpaca-hair dryer ball!! Taking another group again this weekend :).

Our Pricing, Operational Calendar and other information is available on our webpage and our facebook page. Please note that on all normal operating days, the rides close from 3-3:30 pm for safety checks; the arcade and concessions will remain open during this time. Located on the shores of beautiful Chautauqua Lake, Midway State Park is a family treasure. Originally established in 1898 as a trolley park, Midway State Park is one of the oldest continually operating amusement parks in the nation. Midway State Park continues to offer the same family friendly atmosphere that visitors have come to love. Patrons can take a nostalgic ride on the vintage carousel, play a game of mini golf, take a spin on the tilt-a whirl, ride the go-karts or watch their children enjoy themselves on the many kiddie rides. And, while some may prefer to relax while enjoying a cotton candy or ice cream, others can test their skills at classic midway games.
New York State did an amazing job taking a small rundown amusement park and made it in to a beautiful family day out! The rides are ages 3-8 maybe they are all well maintained! A beautiful carousel etc! On the beautiful shores of Chautauqua Lake! They even have an arcade and inexpensive snack bar! You are welcome to bring a picnic! You can purchase tickets or a wrist band!! Much less expensive than any overwhelming amusement park!! Not to be missed!

I haven't been to this restaurant in 20 years since I was a kid and I enjoyed this visit just as much as I did then. It hasn't changed much since then, but in all the right ways! The wings are still delicious, the atmosphere is still relaxed, and the view of Lake Chautauqua couldn't have been better. We had a great waitress and the bartender came out and helped us dock our boat on a very windy day. We had wings, spinach dip (delicious), ice cream, and a few drinks. I could have sat there all afternoon enjoying the view and the boats going by. Loved it!

Long Point, which juts peninsula-like into Lake Chautauqua, is one of the moraines left long ago by a retreating glacier. The park and marina comprise a day-use area with thickly-wooded areas of beech, maple, spruce, poplar and oak. The park's boat launch is the most modern on Lake Chautauqua, which, at 1,308 feet above sea level, is one of the highest navigable bodies of water in North America. The lake has a plentiful supply of bass, perch, pike and other types of fish, but fishermen come to Chautauqua to fish for muskellunge. Muskellunge, or muskie, are native to the lake, noted for their size--often more than 30 inches long (in fact they must be at least 40" to keep) -- and their "fight." In winter, visitors can cross-country ski, snowmobile or fish.
Great boat launch, terrific hiking trails through the forest. Good concessions, and a great swimming area.
