This 70,000-acre park is named for the point at which the Delaware River cuts through Kittatinny Mountain.
Delaware Water Gap On our adventure, we were on our way to Dingman's Ferry when we saw this back road. We decided to take it and it went along by the river in the Gap. 20 miles of 15 miles an hour on a rural road. We found treasure upon treasure for picture taking. It was just us and nature. Couldnt have asked for a more perfect ending to our day

Explore Delaware Water Gap's fascinating history as one of the top US tourist destinations a century ago, as well as an art gallery showcasing some of the best art in the Poconos! The Dutot Museum & Gallery is housed in a charming brick schoolhouse (circa 1850). On the second floor is a museum which displays and interprets artifacts pertaining to the history of the town. A video presentation is shown to visitors. Among the many displays are native American artifacts, Kentucky rifles, a drum from the war of 1812, land deeds and documents dating back to 1707, and resort memorabilia with pictures of famous visitors such as Fred Astaire and President Theodore Roosevelt. Also on the second floor is a recreated old time school room, with walls lined with class pictures from its 99 years as a school. You can still ring the original school bell in the belfry. The first floor features an art gallery with rotating exhibits of high caliber regional art. A second building contains a restored 1926 American LaFrance fire truck and other antiques.

Built in the era of the Titanic and Henry Ford’s Model T. The Castle Inn was the last of the great resorts built in the Borough of Delaware Water Gap which saw over 500,000 visitors a year at the turn of the century. Delaware Water Gap was the playground for the socialites of New York City & Philadelphia that traveled there by train. This tour will take you back to 1906 when Dimmick Daniel Drake built the Castle Inn. The Inn saw many fruitful years from thousands of guests, John Philip Sousa playing in the famed Music Hall to the 1930s when the Castle was used as a training ground for Madison Square Garden boxers. Fred Waring bought the Inn in 1952 and made it the home of his vast music empire. In 2005, the Castle was bought by Frank & Theresa Paccione who have been refurbishing it to its former grandeur. Check our Facebook page for In-person historical tours.
The Inn (non-residential) has been partially restored (ongoing project) and houses cute retail outlets and an Ice Cream Emporium--it is the site of the truly amazing COTA Jazz Festival--a 3-day event in early September--Try patio dining offerings upstairs.
