Circle Drive Historic District

I read a few reviews about Circle Drive Historic District - some thought it was gorgous just like I did and there was one or two that said it wasn't worth it. I personally loved driving around looking at the homes, taking photos of the homes, the train depot, the trees, the lake, the Chataqua Building and the library. Even had the chance to walk in the library - it is very charming and awesome. I went back twice to this area.

I wanted to buy the blackberry wine, but wanted to taste to see that it wasn't too sweet. I went to the tasting room and was not greeted there, or in the store. I guess they are too busy entertaining tourists and forget about the local people. They lost a sale and I wont be back.

The young man that works here is wonderful. I've been here several times traveling in our motorhome. He is a wealth of information and always knows what's going on in the local area. He is like a tour guide and local historian. He is very knowledgeable about the history of the area to include providing maps and instructions. The store is wonderful and you will find unusual candies and candies of a by gone era. Worth the stop.

Britton Hill at Lakewood Park

Reviewed By AlnAbroad - Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Britton Hill is the lowest of all the 50 state highpoints, and is a fun place to check out! The views are surprisingly scenic for being in Florida, and the park is very nicely maintained. At the highest point itself is a monument to celebrate the geographical prominence, and there are also short hiking trails around the site.

It isn't too far from I-10, so it's worth checking out just for the geographical oddity even if you aren't a dedicated highpointer!

Bullets & Bones Sportsmans Club

Reviewed By D B - Nashville, Tennessee

This seems like a fairly new outfit, but they have some nice features. There are covered pavilions, one just for rifles (up to 200 yards) and one for pistols and rifles ( up to 65 yards). There are shooting rests and target frames a plenty. You can bring your own ammo and targets or by them there. The only problem I saw was the amount of people that can be there together. On a Saturday afternoon it was busy enough that we had a hard time communicating with our party and there were long waits for everyone else to be ready to make the range cold or hot.
