For Thanksgiving, we traveled from South Florida to Atmore, Florida, to attend the Thanksgiving Pow Wow. My son was working on his Indian lore merit badge for scouting so we stopped by this museum. It was the highlight of our visit, and my son walked out giving the museum his highest praise: best merit badge yet! We were so impressed with the quality of this museum. There was no cost to tour the museum. The 15-minute movie at the beginning of the museum is not to be missed as it gives a great overview before seeing all of the exhibits and puts them in context. Brandy and Chaze, both Tribe members gave one of the most interesting and refreshingly real insights as to the past, present, and future of the Tribe. Their tour in and of itself was worth the 20 hour round trip drive from our house. Margaret and Mary, also of the Tribe, taught my son to weave a basket and he cherishes the basket he made. My son loved the hands-on portions of the museum with the basket weaving and playing stick-ball, a Native game. The museum was clean, new, interactive, thought-provoking, and fascinating. It is well worth visiting and not to be missed. Add on the Thanksgiving Pow Wow festival and when the cotton fields are in bloom, and this is something really unique. We give this museum and the Tribe our highest thanks for this experience. I wish every child and adult in America had the opportunity to visit this thought-provoking museum.

Just got back, what a great time at a great place! Excellent everything, from the spotless well accommodating room to the fabulous buffet Wind Creek exceeded our expectations by far ! After reading trip advisor reviews I had doubts; however knowing how a lot of people use Trip Advisor reviews, it has become a place to air petty complaints and misunderstandings we tried Wind Creek and very happy we did ! The casino play was excellent, if your a slot player you will love the variety of games. OMG the machines that have possible big jackpots with any size bet is good as I have seen in other casinos i.e. Vegas, Laughlin, Biloxi etc. plenty of Free alcohol drinks for players after just 1 point your eligible to order right from your machine no waiting for busy staff to take your order! Every 20 minutes you can order another if playing limit 10-12 per day, if that’s not enough get help! Always free coffee, water and soda. 10$ food Comp with new members card, room was less expensive than surrounding properties and players rate very nice. Hotel has everything people want great bowling alley with pool tables, movie theater , first run movies, non smoking casino area, pool and hot tub open March 1 until October 31, Spa open year round and the best up to date very spacious arcade for kids or adults I have ever seen in a Casino or hotel ! People you gotta try Wind Creek Atmore you won’t be disappointed! I guess if I need a negative it would be the gift shop was small and no Wind Creek monogrammed hats or clothing. Oh wait on the way home got a text that they had restocked the GS today ! Oh did I mention the outside amphitheater for concert and other venues.
