Ilkley is a spa town and civil parish in West Yorkshire, in Northern England. Historically part of the West Riding of Yorkshire, Ilkley civil parish includes the adjacent village of Ben Rhydding and is a ward within the City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council. Approximately 12 miles (19 km) north of Bradford and 17 miles (27 km) northwest of Leeds, the town lies mainly on the south bank of the River Wharfe in Wharfedale, one of the Yorkshire Dales.

The Ilkley Toy Museum is a great place for adults as well as kids. Adults can reminisce over the toys we grew up with as well as being blown away by the toys from hundreds of years ago while there are activities for the kids. The working Fairground is amazing.

Clip and climb is handily placed in the centre of Ilkley near the station. It offers over a dozen different climbs. The children are supervised and has a safety instruction before putting on a safety harness that is clipped to a rope on a counter balance pulley that encourages them to make climbs of varying degrees of difficulty. For younger children they initially needed help attaching themselves to the safety ropes but with practice became more adept. The sessions are 3o minutes or an hour and it is advisable to book in advance,which can be done online.for parents there is a viewing gallery which is served by a small cafe. The staff were very friendly and helpful. An enjoyable and worthwhile visit.

Large grassed area along river with large children's play area.Good wheelchair access once there but a steep slope to get to the area from the surrounding streets
