The best place to wakeboard in Cambridgeshire, situated in farmland in the fens, south of Ely, only 20 minutes north of Cambridge. We have a full Rixen cable for playing and a straight line cable for learning, both with UNIT obstacles to enhance your experience. We offer coaching to all levels of wakeboarders whether you are a complete beginner or an advanced rider that wants to perfect a new trick. We have all equipment available to hire (although please note under current COVID-19 conditions we are not hiring wetsuits, refer to our website/Facebook page for updates). Minimum age 6 on coaching cable and 8 on main cable.
Cant recommend this place enough- it was a great family day out for a fussy family of 6, the 4 teens absolutely loved the experience and us parents got involved and showed the kids how it's done The aqua park is also a must for the family loads of fun obstacles and slides! We will be back for round 2 soon - I dont think the kids will let it rest!

As National Trust members, the missus and I are drawn to places where we do not have to pay to get in. A short trip by motor car from Cambridge, we headed Wicken Fen driving across the flats of Cambridgeshire, overwhelmed by the amount of sky. On arrival, the first thing we did after the obligatory visit to the toilets was to book onto the boat trip. After a sandwich and a cup of tea, we joined our fellow mariners and walked down to the launch, the skipper talking about the fen and the way it was worked in the past. Once on board, a gentle cruise down the lode was a delight, with the skipper’s on-Board commentary providing a lot of information. Back on land, we continued our exploration of the Board walks, taking in a number of bird watching hides and a wind pump. We saw birds and butterflies, reeds and sedge as well as trees and other nature stuff. Finally, there was a visit to a Fenman’s cottage, preserved to be as it was. Very quaint, interesting and made me happy to be living in the 21st century.

After a stroll alongside the river yesterday, we walked back in to the City via the Jubilee Gardens. Beautiful setting, well laid out with winding paths, plenty of trees and areas of shrubs etc. Recommended

Ely Markets are a chartered market in the centre of the historic Cathedral City of Ely. Markets are held every Thursday, Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday. Our specialist Farmers Market is held every 2nd and 4th Saturday.
Ely Market has a great atmosphere and fantastic variety of good quality stalls. There is a farmers market on Saturday every two weeks running alongside the craft & general market that runs every week which also includes other food stalls. The market has great variety and there are friendly stall holders who give great personality to the shopping experience. You can buy antiques and vintage items, local crafts, books & records homemade cakes and a great cup of coffee. Locals shop there regularly, it is not just for tourists! (Disclaimer: I used to have a stall at the market but since stopped trading to open my own shop. This is a personal review of the market based on my experience shopping there, not as a trader).

Cineworld Ely is a brand new 6 screen cinema, built as part of the new leisure park on Downham Road. The cinema opened its doors in May 2017 and boasts state of the art facilities, including 3D screens, live streaming of special performances and great accessibility options.
The sound system is great and the seats are very comfortable, making that longer film endurable. Free parking here too, which is a bonus.
