We are in from Florida and our hotel ski shop was incredibly expensive to rent ski and snowboard packages for our family. So the concierge suggested Christy Sports Ski and Snowboard at 182 Avon Road in Avon, Colorado (Beaver Creek Snow Area) and we are so glad we did. First, the prices were great and we saved so much more than just going to the hotel shop (where the staff was less than friendly) and Second, the staff were amazing. From the time we got to the front door Jenna was so helpful and customer oriented. Because of COVID and the limited capacity to enter the building we had to make a reservation (do this 24 hours in advance to save 20%), but she continued to make us feel important (as well as everyone else that came up to the store). We were not going to go anywhere else with that type of service. And, it continued with everyone that worked within the shop that we interacted with, including Ethan (incredibly friendly), J.D. (so knowledgable about our needs), Jake (the assistant manager and so customer service oriented and friendly) and Jason (the store manager). Jason, who is the manager, even stopped what he was doing and ran up to the retail side of the store to get me hand warmers for my wife, just because I asked if he had them (and I am so glad he did because my wife needs them in this type of cold weather). Thank you again to all of the staff, including those that I do not know their names, as this was an amazing experience. We are getting ready to get on the mountain, but, I did not want to wait on this post as it may help someone make their choice on where they would want to go to rent skis and/or snowboards - Definitely make it Christy Sports in Avon, Colorado.

After seeing an ad in the Vail Daily, I signed up for a Walking Mountains free hike. I have since participated in two more and each one has been a delight. There are no trails into the mountains without at least a moderate increase in elevation but our guide was patient when needed and the pace was acceptable for me in my later 60’s. I discovered new trails, met many interesting people - both local and tourists, and greatly appreciated our guide who taught us so much about the science behind the beautiful nature that surrounds us.
