We did the bamboo rafting + jungle cooking. It was an excellent rafting experience with beautiful views of the limestone cliffs in a very peaceful environment. They even gave us fish food to feed the fish! On the way there they were thoughtful enough to pick us up rain ponchos just in case it rained. The car pickup from the beginning to end was seamless from place to place and we were never kept waiting for even a second. After the rafting, we walked through a cave, at the end of which a driver was waiting to pick us up. They took us to the jungle cooking, done under a bamboo hut outside, in case of rain. They gave us souvenir bamboo cups that they served us fresh coconut water out of, after which we made fresh coconut milk! We cooked rice in bamboo, made banana flower tempura, shrimp coconut curry, and lemongrass chicken. Everything was made from ingredients you’d find in the jungle! It felt like an authentic experience that was very well thought out, and the food was really delicious! We especially loved the banana flower tempura which we definitely have never seen on any restaurant menu yet. We finished the day off eating our meal with a beautiful view of the jungle in the distance. Our teacher spoke English very well and helped us make this delicious meal, and gave us watermelon for dessert. :) In my search for a jungle cooking class, this was one of the only cooking classes that tried to simulate a “jungle” experience. Most other jungle cooking classes were just normal cooking classes that happen to be in a jungle. Overall a wonderful and unique experience that I would recommend to anyone! My husband and I had already done a cooking class in Chiang Mai, and doing this second one was definitely worth doing!

This is one of Thailand's most popular parks for foreign visitors but at the same time is unspoiled and uncrowded. The national park is home to a number of eco-resorts offering room, food, and tours. The park is includes a large rainforest and exception steep limestone mountains. There are also rivers and waterfalls. Tours include jungle treks, elephant experience, kayaking and tubing on the river. The most popular tour in the area is to the Rajaprapa reservoir, also known as Khao Sok Lake. Here guests can sleep on rafthouses at the edge of the jungle and enjoy kayaking, birdwatching, and hiking in pristine forest. Day trips are also available. In addition to observing numerous tropical birds including majestic hornbills, Asian buffalo and elephants are often seen, and tapirs and other jungle animals more rarely. The area can be reached easily from airports in Phuket (2 hours away) and Surathani airport (1.5 hours away).
If you want adventure, go with a tour through here. We spent two days in different areas of this park, and thoroughly enjoyed the canoe ride up through the river to see wildlife, plus the 1 1/2 days in the National Park, being taken over the lake in a Longtail boat, to amazing acomo on this lake, and some hiking into the waterfall, plus more rides on the Longtail boat to view wildlife. With the tour we took we had an excellent guide - Ot - who looked after us so well. (there were only 3 of us so got full on attention).

The market was a lot of fun with all kinds of different authentic dishes being prepared. Very cheap and you could get anything from bugs to taro balls! Great way to eat cheap.
