Liaoning (Chinese: 辽宁; pinyin: Liáoníng ) is a province of China, located in the northeast of the country. The modern province was established in 1907 as Fengtian or Fengtien province and the name was changed to Liaoning in 1929. It was also known as Mukden province at the time, for the Manchu pronunciation of Shengjing, the former name of the provincial capital Shenyang. Under the Japanese-puppet Manchukuo regime, the province reverted to its 1907 name but the name Liaoning was restored in 1945 and again in 1954.

This is a big square as the name suggests. Supposedly the largest square in the Asia. This is build on the beach, Clean neat & nicely maintained. Beautified with the lawn, garden & the musical fountain in the nights. This also has amusement park . Adjacent to the beach are available the eateries as well. All in all a very nice place in the evenings to spend good time , alone or in group.

just a short bus trip from Beijing CBD is the great wall of China. A wonder by all meanings of the word. Weather you appreciate History, Architecture or culture the great wall will simply wow and overwhelm you. Its larger that it looks on photos, higher and physically more challenging to climb that videos or photos can ever show. the market place at the bottom with food, artifacts and memorabilia's is a wonder o its own. You can never claim to have seen China if you never visited the great wall.

Dalian is a beautiful city of seven million with a great big park close to the downtown core. Xinghai Park features fantastic views of a bridge that's better than San Francisco's more famous one and two big sections dedicated to the big rides plus miles of beaches with restaurants and an enormous bungie jumping tower in the middle. And it's free. Dalian is a city that is greatly under-rated. What other city has a great beach like this so close to the downtown shopping area?!

Love this place. Every season provides something new and exciting. During the winter months, they have a snow village with various snow activities. During the spring months, flowers are out for your view (love the rose garden). During the summer months, the amusement park is open for enjoyment (go down the toboggan if you can). During the fall months, the trees are changing their colors. The Ginko trees are so beautifully golden.

This was quite an experience and not what I was expecting. As this was late October the garden was closing down as the season was finishing and they were planting the bulbs for next year. However, we decided to continue the visit as we wanted to see the famous 125 metre high Lily Tower. It is quite a large garden – actually a park - full of surprises. As the board near the entrance states “The park is a collection of gardens and architectural products of five continents and key cities in the world.” All of which are worth exploring. We spent most of the day there and still wanted to see more. We shall return when the flowers are in bloom, because it will an absolute joy. Definitely recommended if you are in the area and have a spare day.
