Unlike Baotu Springs, this one is free and you can walk along the cannal and see various springs. You can see locals collecting water and folks enjoying a nice walk. My son loved it because it gave him the opportunity to run, skip, hop and jump around. He also enjoyed balancing on some rocks and getting his hat wet to cool down. I loved visiting Jinan and seeing the green spaces! This was no exception. We had a little more than an hour before we needed to leave our hotel to catch the train, so we walked over here from our hotel. If we spend more time along the canal, we would have taken a little boat ride down the canal.

One of the highlights of Jinan is to visit baotu spring park. The challenge is always the crowds when trying to visit destination for tourists in China. Since the park is not too small and not too big then definitely you'll find the share of crowds and no crowds as you roam around. In general i enjoyed the stroll would recommend anyone visiting Jinan to come by the place.

This has to be the must-visit place when in Jinan. We only spent a couple of hours walking around the lake and just covered about half of this whole place. Absolutely beautiful all around! Seemed like this lake area took up half of the old city surrounded by the moat.

The Qianfoshan (Thousand Buddha Mountain), is Jinan’s largest downtown park. The mountain includes about 130 Buddha statues carved during the Sui Dynasty (581-618 AD), a Ten Thousand Buddha Cave at the foot of the northern slope, and other statues and buildings from 2,000 years ago. The big golden statue of Buddha is beautiful and the mountain is an awesome place to take panoramic views of Jinan, especially at sunset. The climb up takes about 30 minutes walking. There is also an option of taking a bus or cable car. The Confucius Restaurant at Qianfoshan provides excellent vegan and non-vegan food as well as tea, wine, and beer and its right at the entrance of the park.
