We wanted to visit the High Tatras from the UK and do some hill walking & trekking. Specifically, we planned to hike Gerlachovsky stit (2655m) and Mt Rysy (2503m). We needed a guide and turned to Mountain ProGuiding. This proved an excellent choice. Our point of contact, by email and phone, was Katarina, who was efficient, courteous and professional throughout. She teamed us up with Peter for Gerlachovsky stit, and with Tibor for Mt Rysy. Both were excellent guides, with a great knowledge of the mountains. They set a pace that suited, read the weather excellently, kept us safe throughout, and got us to the top of both peaks (and down again) without drama. We really enjoyed both climbs which were very satisfying, and we owe a big thank you to Mountain ProGuiding for making it all happen.

We had a fabulous time on the peak, snow in September and minus 6 degrees, we were oh so lucky though, the peak was covered in cloud until the car reached the summit and then it just cleared, the views are truly spectacular. This was my partners first trip on a cable car, so the unsupported suspension cable car trip for the last 855 metres surprised her! While you are up there do not miss the opportunity to have what is probably the best hot chocolate ever, and this from somebody who does not normally drink sweet drinks. The restaurant at the mid station is also good value for a lunch time meal. Worth every penny

Treetop walk Bachledka is situated at the ridge of Spišská Magura, the border of Pieniny and Tatra National Park. A mild climb will safely take you from the ground up to a height of 24 meters directly to the treetops. We’ll show you why the local nature is so unique. You’ll become a part of the forest life and meet many animals and plants that are rare to find. The path with a length of more than 1.234 meters will take you through a variety of wild forests where various surprises and information are waiting for you. The panoramic views from the 32-meter high tower will surely take your breath away - Belianske Tatras, Pieniny and picturesque Zamagurie.During your trip among the treetops you can stop at two adrenaline sites. Those who dare can try to maintain their balance over a seemingly dangerous gap. All the attractions are totally safe! At the top of the 32 meters-high tower your heart will skip a beat thanks to the walk through the walking net.
