July 14, 2021 Veronika Gaddis

Sparsely-populated beaches that give way to an ocean brimming with interesting marine life and coral gardens are just one of the reasons to visit the beautiful Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Ghandi Park, Sippighat Farm and the century-old Cellular Jail (now a pilgrimage destination) provide glimpses into the past and present of these peaceful islands with a mysterious and multicultural past.

Samudrika Marine Museum

Samudrika Naval Marine Museum is located in Port Blair and is a well known tourist attraction in the Andaman Islands. This place is also known as Fisheries Museum. It has more collection and info about Corals, sea shells, tribes of Andaman than Naval activities. This place has a wide range of installations which cover islands’ ecosystem, plants, animals, history, local tribal communities and marine life. This museum also includes a small aquarium that has live fishes, corals and shells. On the outside just the near the main entrance they have a huge skeleton of a blue whale that was washed ashore on the Nicobars. The Samudrika Naval Marine Museum is run by the Indian Navy and it has 5 rooms or galleries dotted which show cases the geography, anthropology and marine life of the Island. The museum is located centrally in Port Blair and is a must visit location. We spent almost 3-4 hours enjoying the place. My personal favorite was the gallery with Corals and Sea shells !!! Must visit place for people of all ages. They also play documentaries about the island which one can sit and watch peacefully to get better understanding of Andaman n Nicobar islands.

I have had the most bombastic experience at the Venom Bar. With its live music, they provide their visitors with an ambience best suited for a celebration. I was there with my better half and it's our personal viewpoint, that they served the best cocktails and sea food starters in the entire island. All in all, in terms of hospitality, food, drinks, ambience, crowd and music, Venom Bar must be one's first choice.
