Cleeve Abbey

Boasting the most impressively complete and unaltered set of monastic cloister buildings in England. Standing roofed and two storeys high, they include the gatehouse, the 15h century refectory with its glorious angel rood; unusual painted chamberand the floor of an earlier refectory. An exhibition and touch screen virtual tour tell the story of abbey life and a story bag is an ideal way for families to explore the site. Child friendly and dog friendly.

I have seen this statue several times and it is very evocative especially as Samuel Taylor Coleridge spent some time at nearby Nether Stowey

Yankee Jack Statue

Reviewed By JuneBug1939 - Weston super Mare, United Kingdom

Yankee Jack (John Short) was born in Watchet and went to sea as a lad, bringing back many sea shanties which were collected in later years by the famous folklorist Cecil Sharp. This has to be one of the most beautiful locations for a statue.

Doniford Farm Park

Reviewed By Ejswift21 - Smethwick, United Kingdom

We pre booked Sunday Carvery here over the Spring Bank holiday, if we hadn't they would not have been able to serve us the Carvery as they were so busy. Thus made us a little worried what the service would be like when we sat down but it was amazing Carvery staff really helpful, served us quickly and the food was brilliant. I had vegetarian which was a staffed butternut squash and the neat eaters had a choice of turkey and beef or both. We were very impressed and social distances we're adhered too. I'd highly recommend. Book for Carvery but it's it's just sandwiches and cakes you'll probably be ok we had a little wander round the animals after which was nice. We walked here easily from the Haven site.

Great farm for the kids. A fully stocked farm shop, great food and then play park. The little kids love to feed the animals and the best thing is that it's free entrance.

There is only one St Decuman (so not St Decumen's). Very interesting interior with the Wyndham Chapel, splendid stained glass windows with oldest dated 1273,chancel roof lined with carved wooden angels, the tiles on the chancel floor are thought to originatein the 13century from Cleeve Abbey etc etc. Taking the path from the church to Snailholt you will find the tranquil St Decumans Holy Well - well worth a visit.
