The 7 Best Sights & Landmarks in Sanur, Bali

July 11, 2021 Giuseppe Pratt

The postcard-perfect beaches of Sanur are truly idyllic, the realization of all those daydreams about Bali beach vacations. More laid-back than neighboring vacation destinations, Sanur is the type of place where hip Europeans who have outgrown the party scene come to recharge. Every year, the endless blue skies are peppered with flecks of vibrant color during the International Kite Festival.

Well designed layout. Scrupulously clean and beautifully presented salon on Jalan Danau Tamblingan right opposite the Maya Resort and Spa. Cosmo’s Balinese massage is excellent (assuming all of the masseurs deliver in the same way!). After many less than average massages in Sanur, given by ladies with dubious anatomical understanding , the Cosmo experience really stood out as the best to date. If you walk by, don’t be put off by the downstairs area which looks nice, but nothing special. Upstairs is where the treatments are given and it’s just gorgeous. Private rooms, fans, a/c, showers in each room too. IMO, Cosmo and The Nest Beachside are the two best spas in the Sanur strip. You do pay more of course, but in the grand scheme of things it’s not very much at all! Highly recommended. But do remember to book!

For us it was wonderful. It helped that it was not overcrowded and we read a bit about it beforehand. I closed my eyes and went inwards especially for the purification rituals and it was a truly spiritual experience. Understand that crowds and queues are frustrating so if it means something to you plan in advance and arrive as early as possible
