Ornate plasterwork, guilded woodwork and large fireplaces reflect the atmosphere in Monnickendam’s old town hall. The great hall with gold floral leather wallpaper makes a striking impression, and the large magnificent staircase is absolutely an eye catcher. When you enter this building, it’s hard to believe you are not in one of the Amsterdam Grand Canal houses.
