We had been told about this place by our host. It’s an extraordinary site. During an excavation to build a factory the workers stumbled across an extensive Roman site. It turned out to have 3 different ages of population, dating back to 3000 years BC. Yes...FIVE THOUSAND YEARS OLD!!! There’s a brilliant and informative museum, with some incredible artefacts and then you are able to get close to the ongoing research and get a feel for the various buildings they are uncovering. We simply don’t get sites of this quality and size in the UK...so essentially placed in history and geography. Well worth the few pounds it cost for our entire family to visit.
