Once known for smog, traffic and tacky architecture, Athens is a city reformed thanks to fortunes brought by the 2004 Summer Olympics. Spotless parks and streets, an ultra-modern subway, new freeways, an accessible airport and all signs in perfect English make the city easily negotiable. Meriting more than a stopover en route to the islands, sophisticated Athens sites include many pillars of Western history, from the Acropolis to the Temple of Olympian Zeus, as well as treasures in the National Archaeological Museum.

Athens' historical cafe, described as "kindergarden -bar- nursing home" by Greek legendary, classic writer, Alexandros Papadiamantis who spent a lot of his time at this marvellous spot to enjoy coffee, ouzo and "meze". Right under Mount Lycabettus, Dexameni serves its customers some peace and quiet along with a delicious variety of food and drinks!

A hidden gem just in the center of Athens. Special thanks to the bartender who was knowledgeable on Wiskey aspects and intoduced some new options to me. Keeping his promise for new tastes next time back. The jazzy atmosphere makes you feel the vibe. Deffinitely a must visit place and for sure my mid week spot for a casual drink with friends. Weekends are quite busy so better be early or book in advance.

Athen's authentic and luxurious night club. A beautiful venue featuring an up-scaled bar as well as tables to be reserved. Sitting or standing, Blondie's customers enjoy absolutely thrilling DJ sets as well as special live music events on Sundays!
